Rejoicing with the Heavenly Angels
Matthew 18:1-5
1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" 2 And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, 3 and said, "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 "Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 "And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me;
Tonight I had the awesome privledge of leading my daughter Elizabeth to Lord. We were reading a book about the Easter story. Suddenly she said, "God doesn't know me. And I don't know God". So I asked her if she wanted to know God and God to know her. She said yes. I explained that to know God, you must first accept Jesus in to your heart, you do this by praying and we tell God that we know we sin, and are sinners. Then I asked if she knew what sin was, she said yes, "when we do something bad". I went on to explain that Jesus died on the cross for our sin, and that by admitting to our sin, and asking God to forgive us of our sin, we then accept Jesus into our hearts and we can know God, sorta like knowing mommy and daddy only better. She then said rather sheepishly, that she wanted to pray and know God. So we prayed the sinner's prayer together. Then she said....I know God, and Jesus is in my heart. Several times throughout the night she commented about this.
I am rejoicing by this precious daughter's decision. And overwhelmed with the assurance that I know this is from the Lord. Only He knows the great plans He has for her. I pray that as her earthly parents we will continue to pray for her and train her in His ways. My heart is overflowing with love for my wonderful Heavenly Father, and His sovereign grace and mercy.
~~~praising Him for His blessed assurance,
me
What's been happening in our home....
I was looking so forward to our St. Patrick's Day celebrations. It was a great day with the girls but not everything got done as I had hoped. I gave in and went to the Dr. for my sinus infection. I had been trying to treat it with lots of water, my allergy medicines, yogurt, humidifiers and extra Vitamin C. But it had settled into my chest and so I went to the dr. Not my usual dr. which bummed me. This dr. didn't want to give me the antibiotic that I have taken the last two times, she is afraid I wil become resisitant. I agree. But other antibiotic's take so much longer to kick in. So on Friday I didn't have as much energy to get through the day.
One of Jen's friend called and wanted her to go bowling also. That put a damper on some of our plans. She was gone much of the afternoon. Then we went into town to the libraries to collect books for our Ancient Rome-Tapestry of Grace History. We will be studying this for the next 4-6 weeks.
Then we didn't end up eating our dinner. Instead my husband took pity on me and we went out to eat at Old Country Buffet. The girls enjoy eating there. It is an easy place for me to stay within my Weight Watchers points.
So next year we'll do more reading and dancin' the irish jig. We did eat our green eggs and had green mac n' cheese for lunch. They enjoyed wearing their hats and coloring some shamrocks. Jen did some reading about St. Patrick.
Saturday I worked. I felt better than Friday. Sunday though I was wiped out and stayed home. I rested a lot.
Today I felt icky, I had been up coughing a lot in the night. But I had been praying a lot, all that being awake gave me time to reflect on the many blessings of my life. So when I did awaken this morning I felt such joy and peace.
After getting done with school we made a trip to WalMart and Taco John's. Now we are set for a little snow. My poor tulips. I wish I had something to cover them with. The girls are excited for the snow. The weather people can't seem to decide on an amount. Now it is sounding like 2-4 inches. The wind has been blowing all day. We have been picking up garbage from the construction people behind us. Jennifer is so good about going around the yard and getting it for us. So tomorrow after efficiently getting through their work. I'm sure the girls will be out playing in the snow.
There is so much more I want to blog. But it is bedtime. Tomorrow us our Anniversary. I will be very happy if my husband decides to not travel because of the weather. We have hired a babysitter and will go out to eat after I weigh-in at Weight Watchers. I did walk on the treadmill, wed. and thursday.
I am so excited about what I got Dave for our Anniversary, a Phillips, Craig and Dean CD, and tickets to their concert. He will be surprised. Plus I already arranged the babysitter. Yippee another date night. He got me something at the Family Christian Bookstore. That is always a good thing. I'll post our wedding picture tomorrow. I am trying not to get on the computer or answer the phone at all until the afternoon.
~~~~~wishing you warm hearts and home,
me

And the Winner is
Jennifer!!!!
Saturday morning our church had their Awana Pinewood Derby Grand Prix.
Dave and Jennifer had worked hard on making her
special Pinewood car. As a dad with only girls, he was
enjoying the experience and the thrill of competition.
Friday night he helped them set up the track. He knew that
he and Jen had a winner, just not THE winner. Jennifer's car
took first in every race but one, in which it took second.

| Hebrews 12 |
- 12:1
- Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
~~~looking forward to the end of the race, as I run it with my Lord, family and friends,
