Sell Information Online With The 5 Benefits Of AutorespondersAutoresponders can be used as a great tool to sell information online. A properly utilized autoresponder is one of the best forms of leverage for anyone looking to make money on the internet.1. Autoresponders put your sales process on autopilot An autoresponder allows you to do repeated exposure of your marketing message, which has been known to increase sales. You want to make sure you include your autoresponder address where they can subscribe to and receive a number of marketing messages. This dramatically increases the chances of the visitors becoming customers. As an example, if you are selling a product, you can add testimonials and a product description. 2. Distribute advertising If you sell advertising as part of how you sell information online, autoresponders can help as well. You can set up your autoresponder to send out ad rates and instructions on how to place an ad. You can also have your autoresponder follow-up for you. You can also promote any special deals or offers that you have. 3. Promote an email course One of the best uses of an autoresponder is to create an email course. Make sure the course includes content that is of value, not a sales pitch. Doing this will help you make sales. It also can include tips and techniques that give your prospects an idea of the type of information you offer and how they can benefit from it. You want to include the features and more importantly the benefits of your product. You also want to ask your prospects to buy from you towards the end of your emails. 4. Give out free trials You can use an autoresponder to give out free trials of your any product if you sell information online. Free trials are often the best way to get a prospect on the fence to buy. Free trials are also a great way to get someone to give you their email address. You should include in your autoresponder instructions on how to access the trial and follow-up and close those prospects as well. 5. Automate reminder emails Another way to use autoresponders is to use them as a reminder to your prospects of what you have to offer. What this does is increase the conversion rate of people who visit your website and actually purchase what you have to offer. These reminder emails can also be used to promote additional products or services that you have to offer as well as affiliate programs. These are just some of the ways that you can use autoresponders to make more sales. Using these suggestions will help you sell information online. __________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. She has a pet that just happens to be sitting nearby her prize winning 50 year old bonsai tree and that pet decides to jump down and knock the tree over. When that distraction takes place, unless you have an autoresponder to capture their name and email address you have lost the sale forever because the average person will not come back on their own. With an autoresponder, that person receives emails from you to remind them of who you are and what you have to offer and will come back to your website as a result. With an autoresponder you can achieve great success as you are starting a consulting business with email automation. In order to achieve success, here are 3 strategies that you can implement that will help you with starting a consulting business so you can build up your client base. 1. Create a newsletter Creating a newsletter is going to do several things to help you with converting your potential clients into actual clients. A newsletter builds up credibility in the minds of your prospects as well as allows your prospects to better understand what it is you have to offer. 2. Promote a newsletter for affiliates As a consulting business owner with affiliates, a newsletter allows you to keep them up to date as to the latest news and events that is going on with your products and services. This information will help them to be able to maximize their commission and promote your consulting business more effectively. 3. Promote your articles Promoting your articles is an excellent way to get off to a great launch when starting a consulting business as it allows you to establish your level of competence, drive more prospective clients to your website and make money. By writing articles about your area of expertise that create value in the lives of the reader, this allows you to get other website owners to promote your articles for you and give you additional exposure. Each article should include a resource box with a description of you and your products and services. A resource box should have your autoresponder email address. Say you authored 50 articles. By taking these articles and putting them into an autoresponder, you can create a list that contains article titles, the autoresponder address and a brief abstract of the article. Next, promote the list of articles. It should also have publishing guidelines to make it easy for your affiliates to add their articles and give you more content to work with. These are three strategies that you can implement with autoresponders for newsletters and autoresponders. By utilizing these and other strategies an autoresponder can be a powerful tool when starting consulting business. ________________________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. His take was networking are events. I’ve found as an introvert I’ve just thought of networking differently than maybe some extroverts. When I try it the extroverted way, I usually regret it. In all situations, networking is like open-heart surgery: it takes time. Rush it and you may as well have never started it because you can do more damage than good. Networking groups. A group meets for a purpose and intention of networking, it may have some structure, people say they are committed and members have a similar audience they want to reach. All good ingredients that can get results but the mindset that treats this like an event or process doesn’t find those results. Networking events. These can be either business or social: Chamber of Commerce, professional organizations monthly or weekly meetings, and specific celebratory events like anniversaries shared with others. When they lean toward business, you often find a mentality in action, “He who leaves with the most business cards wins.” That’s exhausting for an introvert. Really, what is the purpose if you haven’t met someone you want to continue to get to know? Networking at events with other purposes. Conferences or seminars have networking, but it happens naturally as you move from one activity on the agenda to another. This is a bit more controllable in terms of savoring your energy before, during and after if you are more introverted. Networking with your current connections. This is where the results are from all of the above, and your life events. Talking with Ms. Amos at church who happens to have a niece in the financial planning business. Ms. Amos says her daughter is considering changing work field. Do you ask yourself, “How can I help with that?” and then if you find you can, do you suggest to Ms. Amos to have her daughter call you? If someone had a diet that worked, would you ignore it? Then why would you not listen to every conversation, at every path in your life and ask yourself, “How can I be of help? What can I offer to the situation?” Then act on this. Networking is part of life. And don’t rush the surgeon. Perfect for the introvert? With our innate skill set and s some strategizing. Do you want to join learn some better ways to overcome your own networking? You must be open to accepting constructive criticism. Just because the source of the criticism is your spouse that does not mean that it is not valid and beneficial. Ideally any business related criticism should come during the specific time that you have set aside to discuss business issues and not when you are planning a romantic night for two! 2. Keep the wall of separation up between issues that affect you home-based business and issues that affect your marriage. It is not appropriate to bring up conversations that are better served for family time while you are running the business together. It is a given that you are both going to have different opinions about issues. That said, there is a time and a place for everything. It is also not appropriate to bring up conversations that are better served for business time during family time. 3. Set aside some time where you can get away from the home to do strategy sessions for your business. It is a good idea to do this once a quarter and review how you are progressing towards your goals. You can do this over dinner, go to a quiet bar or coffee shop, attend a winery, anyplace where the environment is conducive for this type of meeting. 4. Avoid business discussions during the time set aside for dating. Spouses should continue to date each other and this is not the time to discuss business even if you both enjoy it. This is the time to be together as a couple. 5. Go to a business conference together. You should stay one day after the conference so you can identify ways that you can apply what you learned and who you met that you might want to partner with in your the business. It is also good to have your spouse at these conferences as you tend to be more focused than if you go on your own. As you start a home based business with your spouse it can be a major life change so it is important that you recognize this and plan for it accordingly so that there is no interference with your marriage and family. __________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. These are some additional strategies that will help you to be able to work with your spouse more effectively.1. Have a set time each and every week to discuss the next week. You can use this time to divide up tasks and responsibilities and go over the important action items that need to be done. For example, you can schedule this during the mornings on Mondays. It should take place the same time all of the time otherwise it is easy to forget. 2. Divide up tasks and responsibilities and write down which of you is responsible for completing each task that is necessary. One way you can do this is to have a huge white board in your home office. You can have a column for each spouse as well as other columns if you have employees. It is also a good idea to have a large calendar to schedule promotions, events and other day specific activities. 3. Track business and family appointments on a large calendar with various colors. One benefit to starting a home business is the ability to schedule business activities around family events and this will aid you in this task. 4. Use strengths appropriately. Each of you should focus on what you are strong at and hire or outsource out the rest. If you are going to hire employees or contractors make sure you decide and make clear which of you they will work for and what they are responsible for working on so that there is no confusion. 5. Make sure you speak together before you start your home business regarding how you will handle the home and family tasks. Identify who takes the kids to after school events. Select who is going to pick up the kids from school. Decide who will cook the meals. Select who does the cleaning. Discuss these things ahead of time. 6. Figure out what each of you are working on in the business and come up with a game plan for what will happen should one of you need to step away. Think about what it will cost to hire someone to do those tasks instead. This is part of contingency planning, which is vital, especially if one of you gets pregnant or has other situations that require your attention other than the business. Taking steps now will help you, your spouse and your business over the long haul. The end result is the process of starting your home business will be smoother. _____________________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. The greatest product in the world will not sell without great marketing. Marketing is a major requirement in the success formula of a business and a huge part of that is copywriting. Therefore, you cannot run a successful business online without good copywriting.Copywriting is vital when promoting online business opportunities. I thought the key to success in promoting real home business opportunities was to have a great product. I was wrong because even though I had new products every month there was no increase in my income. I realized that I had to sell these products to make money. At that point I made a decision to focus on writing good sales copy. Expert copywriter Joe Sugarman says that good copywriting should cause a person to pay money for a product or service. That is the key to doing it effectively. Here are some strategies I recommend to improve the overall effectiveness of your copywriting. 1. Research You cannot produce an effective sales letter to promote online business opportunities if you fail to do your research. How do you research? You start off by researching the customer. Identify the things that the customer loses sleep over, the fears of the customer, the constant frustrations, and so on. By doing this you will identify all of the concerns and objections of your target customer. You should also find out if the customer uses certain words in language or demonstrates a bias in the buying process. Engineers are a good example because you can expect them to be very analytical in their decision making process. They also have their own language that is specific to their industry. By taking the time out to research the customer, you will be able to write a sales letter to target that customer. This level of personalization is vital. In addition to researching your customer you should also research your product. Point out the features and benefits that your product possesses when promoting online business opportunities. Keep a list of them nearby so you can point them out in your copywriting. The features list what the product does. The benefits list how the features help the customer. To identify the benefit, read the features and ask how each feature helps the customer. This is what your customer thinks when he or she reads your sales letter, so make sure you address it. 2. Index Cards You probably recall index cards being used when writing papers in school. What you may not know is that they are also great for copywriting. When you answer the questions you come up with for the customer put them on the card. This will give you a lot of valuable information about your target customer. You should also include the features and benefits on the card also. When you create each card make sure you put on them sentences that you can add to the sales letter. This will help you get started. It does not have to be worthy of the final draft; it will just help you get started. Taking the time to use index cards to prepare is a very effective tactic. In fact, Dan Kennedy himself uses this tactic when writing copy. These simple steps for writing copy for online business opportunities will go a long way towards improving your copy. Skipping these steps however can hinder your efforts to write copy that sells. __________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. How do you promote them properly? One of the best ways to promote is to combine email marketing with a teleseminar registration page so that you can maximize the amount of people on the call. The first step I take is to send out 3 emails to promote the event. For example, if I am doing a teleseminar next week, I will promote the teleseminar using a broadcast email. This is not like the follow up emails in my autoresponder. Everybody on my list gets the broadcast email all at one time. How should these emails be worded? Here is one way, "Hi, just letting you know I am having teleseminar next week. Here is the number to participate." You should treat these teleseminars like you are charging big bucks for them even if it is free. One way to increase the perceived value is to use a registration page. To promote a teleseminar when you work from home part time, use good copywriting. There should be bullet points on your emails and web pages that highlight what topics are going to be discussed. People are very attracted to discussion topics they believe they will benefit from. So if you have a high interest topic such as "How to make an extra $1,000 to $2,000 within the next 7 days even if you have no product or list." Make sure you highlight that in your promotion. Here are some other great topic examples: "Why some businesses generate all the leads while others stay lead poor." "The 3 reasons why a small minority of business owners that sell information products make money hand over first while the large majority of owners that sell information do not even make enough money to cover their web hosting subscriptions." Keep in mind that these are examples that are hard hitting and attention grabbing and that is the type of examples that you want to use when you write up a list of the topics that you are going to be promoting in your business as well. Here is another one: "The 5 Traffic Generation Strategies They Do Not Want You To Know About because if you did know, you would cut into their profit streams and start making all of this money for yourself." As you can see when you work from home part time, leverage is key and well-written copy is one of the best forms of leverage you can employ when you sell your knowledge online. A great example of a website that does this well is www.fastinfoproducts.com. Check out their bullet points. Now in your emails, you can also use bullet points as well so you can get those visitors to go to your registration page. As an example, 7 days from the event you mail out a broadcast letting them know about the teleseminar with a link to your registration page. 2 days later, you announce it again. On the day you actually have the teleseminar you want to send out one final email. You can say "Hey, just wanted to remind you we will be having our teleseminar in 6 hours." Following these proven strategies will increase your teleseminar attendance and help you make more money as you work from home part time. __________________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. Here is how the article strategy works. Suppose we walked into a restaurant and headed over to a table with 5 people. If you said, "Are any of you musicians?" and someone raised their hand, you may believe them. If the other 4 people pointed to that person, you would certainly believe them. This is a great illustration as to how search engines operate.Pretend say you are selling information about money saving wedding strategies and you tell Google that is what your site is about, they may believe you. On the other hand, if 30 other websites or even 100 other websites tell Google your website is about that topic, Google will say "This is probably what that website is about." If your website also has titles and content with keywords related to weddings and saving money the search engine will believe you even more. With article marketing you will be able to get top search engine placement for a wide variety of keywords. How? When your article gets ranked in the search engines it has a link that directs back to your website. It is like having an army of salespeople at work for you 24 hours a day in a number of locations. Since your articles cover a number of keywords, you will have lots of people visiting your website. It is also easier to get ranked for these types of phrases than it is for main keywords that have millions of other pages. By using the article strategy, you will attract tons of visitors to your website. Many of your competitors will also give you free business because they will use your articles as well. As a result, they will be helping you build your business even if they are also selling information about the same topic you are selling information on. What this does in return is give you high search engine rankings, increased traffic to your website and as a result, an easier job at selling information. ________________________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. As you create these articles, make sure you provide a link at the end to promote your business website. This is known as the resource box and this is the section that you promote yourself. If you are able you should make the link back to your website a hyperlink featuring a keyword or phrase for your business. As an example,"John Smith specializes in performance based coaching for individuals looking to get the most out of their business or life. He is currently offering a personal coaching consultation complementary that you can sign up for on his website." ("Personal coaching" is the keyword that would be a link your readers would click on to go to your website as this is one of the words you may want to target for a coaching business.) When reading the article, some people will be interested in what you have to offer and will click on the link to your website. When you start a coaching business, have something to offer so they can see the value in working with you. Free coaching sessions are one way you can do this. When they sign up for your session, if you have other products for sale, you can promote those also. After writing several articles you want to submit these articles to different ezine and article directories online. There is a key reason why you should do this. Other webmasters use articles to populate their own websites. The promotion of your link is the price they pay to post your article. Besides the traffic you get from that link, you also get a link to your website. Website links are one of the determining factors for search engine rank and position for the keywords and phrases in your market. So here is an overview of this strategy in a nutshell. To start a coaching business you provide great article content and allow other website owners to use it. The only requirement is that they have to credit you as the author. This is where the resource box comes in, because it has your name as well as a link back to your website. As you continue to submit articles over the internet, you will have more and more links coming back to your website. For example, if one of your articles is used by 200 websites, that gives you 200 links that are going back to your website. Always remember article marketing is a powerful technique for bringing more website visitors to you. Article marketing also creates one way links to your website based on your keywords. These two benefits will help you to build up your clients as you start a coaching business. _____________________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. One of the best ways to get traffic to your web site and increase your sales is to get high search engine listings on Google, Yahoo or MSN. One concern many people who are starting a home-based business online have is about competing with larger web sites. They do not see how they can outrank the major web sites. You would be surprised at the type of results that you can get. For example, we sell a book with the title of "Thomas Jefferson Education." At the time we wrote this, our website was ranked #3 for this keyword, which places us on the first page on the Google website. Interestingly enough, out of all of the websites that are ranked for this term, we are one of only two web sites on the first page of Google that sells the book. Do you understand the benefit of this? By focusing my efforts on the keyword and phrase for my book, we get a good search engine placement. At some times in the past, we have even outranked the publisher webpage of the book that we sell. Although Amazon also ranks well for this keyword, they only sell used copies. My students ask me all the time "How does Google determine where I get ranked?" Nobody knows for sure because if they did, they can manipulate the listings and it will hurt Google?s business. This is why you should have a certain level of skepticism if someone claims they are going to show you "all the secrets to dominating the search engines." They really cannot because the only people that TRULY know the secrets work for Google and the specific details of those secrets change all the time. Does this mean you should not buy search engine optimization books? No, you will learn something of value. However, you just need to know that they cannot teach you everything because they do not know how the algorithm works. Since no one knows the algorithm is there anyway to dictate high search engine placement? One of the best ways to do so is to create a campaign where you create back links to your website. A back link is a link on another website that when clicked on, leads the visitor to your website. The way Google uses back links is it looks at the incoming links to your website and the keywords used. If you have a link that says "From Caterpillar to Butterfly" and your web site has content about butterflies, Google will be able to determine that your website should be ranked for the keyword "butterfly." There are many ways to get back links. Here are some suggestions: 1. Ask and link back: One way is to ask others to link to you in exchange for you linking to them. 2. Write a press release: You can write a press release and submit it online about your company. You need to include a link to your website to get any benefit. If a news website uses your release, they will publish it along with a link back to your web site. An example of a press release site is http://www.free-press-release.com/. 3. Article writing: With an article, you can create back links by writing articles and submitting them to different article directories. Each directory you submit to creates a back link to your website. In addition, ezine publishers and blog owners look for articles that they can publish in their ezine or blog. If your article is selected, this creates another back link to your website each time this happens. One of the best article directories on the internet can be found at http://ezinearticles.com/. In my opinion, the simplest way to create backward links for your website is to use articles. If you write a single article, about 300 to 400 words and submit it to 10 article directories, you should have backward links for your web site within a short period of time, which is exactly what a real online business needs. ________________________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. Absolutely not! That is an inventory, not a funnel. The purpose of a funnel is to use it to lead your customers through your marketing process so that they slowly begin to build trust and a relationship with you and your business. Therefore every product that you implement and every marketing strategy that you employ should have an end goal in mind of moving people through your marketing funnel. Lots of people should enter the top part of the funnel through your lower priced products. A lower amount of people should move to the middle of your funnel with your middle priced products. A small minority should be at the end of your funnel with your higher priced products. When creating these products, you can actually create one product and make it three separate products because they are in different formats. You can have a physical book as a product, an eBook as a product and an audio CD as a completely separate product. I do this and all three sell very well for me. An important part of your eBook business funnel is your email newsletter. This is the key to unlocking success in a real online business. The reason why is because your newsletter is your primary method of building rapport and increasing the trust level between you and your customers. Without it, it is difficult, if not impossible to move people through your funnel. As one final thought, the biggest purpose of my funnel is that it allows me to communicate my life?s passion. My life?s passion is to see as many people as possible come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ in their life. I believe by helping people create real home business opportunities; this will give me an opening to share Christ. Of course, if I am able to make money on the internet from this, it is just icing on the cake! _____________________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. Understanding it shows you the strategy to make money on the internet. What I want you to do is to get in your mind a picture of a huge funnel. This funnel should have a wide opening at the top and a small opening at the bottom. Entering the top of the funnel is easy because of its large width. However, emerging from the bottom of the funnel is more difficult. This is because of how narrow and thin the bottom end of the funnel is. When you are running a real online business your product portfolio should look the exact same way. At the top of your portfolio should be free offers that people can obtain with no strings attached. A perfect example is a free article you write on a blog. As you continue on through your portfolio, you should require more but offer better value. You might offer a free report in exchange for an email address. You then offer a $10 report, a $50 book, a $100 training program and so on. So what are the benefits to setting a business where you sell your knowledge up like a funnel? It naturally makes it easier for you to build up trust in the minds and hearts of your prospects. As your prospects make the decision to invest more with you, it allows you to build trust in their mind by delivering on the value you promised on your sales page. This is because every increase in value and price requires a greater commitment from your prospect. As a result, it is important that you take the time to build confidence in you in the mind of your customers. You need to demonstrate to them through your marketing process when you sell your knowledge that you care about them and not just their money. The key to these online business opportunities is to build trust in the mind of your customers. This will help them to understand your message and they eventually become promoters of your message, which is how you find affiliates. This is exactly how the funnel works in your internet marketing business. As you begin your real online business, your main focus is to find something to sell. If you can do that, you know you can make money. That being said, the business owners who recognize this process will make more money and will have more customers doing higher value transactions with them because of this. As the needs of their customer, they are able to meet those needs. By focusing your efforts on providing value, you will build up the level of trust that your customers are willing to invest in you. Your product portfolio funnel should illustrate this by including escalating values of products with escalating price points. Now you should not expect to have this coming out of the gate. However, you do want to have this as something that you can shoot for and build towards, because it is absolutely essential if you want to build a big business when you sell your knowledge. _____________________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. One of the biggest reasons why many people struggle is because of lack of effective time management. Here are some great tips to assist you.1. Make A To-Do List In order to manage your time you must identify what you need to do each day. You do not need to jot down the stuff you can delegate, just the stuff you have to do personally. Make sure you have access to it so you can constantly refer to it. Do not worry if you are not able to get everything done, you can always add it to tomorrows list. The purpose of the list is to keep you focused, as there are many distractions that will occur during the day. Prioritize your list with the most important tasks at the top. This way if a lot of other issues come up, you took care of the most important tasks. 2. Manage email effectively Checking email can waste a lot of your time when building home-based business opportunities. It typically leads to one thing after another and gets you off course. You should check your email at a scheduled time during the day so that it does not interfere with your high payoff activities and you can better manage your time and schedule. Sometimes people think that if you only read and not reply to email it does not hurt your business. The problem with that is you still waste time even if you are not replying to emails because of you start to think about how you are going to handle the email 3. Do not Waste Time Surfing the Internet Because many home-based business opportunities require use of the internet you can be tricked into believing surfing the internet is work. It is only work if you are doing revenue generating activity. Otherwise, surfing the internet is busywork at best and time wasting at worst. One of the best tips you can do is to turn your internet connection off if you don?t need it to work. This will avoid the temptation to check websites you do not need to check. 4. Unmonitored phone time can hurt you Depending on what type of home based business opportunities you are promoting, you may have to spend a lot of time on the phone. However, there is a difference between productive calls and unproductive calls. You should screen your incoming calls either through a personal assistant or a voice mail so you are not wasting your time. When you are working on your most important activities, avoid answering the phone during those times. Instead use that time to generate business by developing content and driving traffic to your web site. You should constantly look at how you manage your time throughout the day. Your ability to generate income is dependent on your ability to focus on the right activities. Using these guidelines should assist you in that process. ________________________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. I welcome them to the course and give them a link to the 1st lesson. This is the first email and they receive it immediately. The 2nd email is part 2 of the mini-course and it will highlight a different point. In the 3rd email, I may go ahead and promote an affiliate program. In the 4th email, I promote part 3 of the mini-course. These emails should be 2-3 days a part. This will allow them to be frequent, but not overbearing. Sometimes you may use a mini-course as part of your product launch strategy along with a teleseminar. If so, you can launch both the mini-course as well as the teleseminar concurrently. The main reason why you launch a mini-course is so you can have a perceived good reason for sending emails that frequently. Once your visitor has received all of the parts to your mini-course, you should send emails featuring tips and strategies once every 7 days. This is like a newsletter for your internet marketing business. Both the mini-course and the newsletter should be loaded up into your autoresponder as follow up emails. In addition to follow-up emails, you should also use the broadcast feature when appropriate. The broadcast feature allows you to send emails to your entire list immediately. There are several reasons why you may want to do this as the owner of an internet marketing business. Maybe you have a new product that you are launching and you want to tell your list about it. When you use a broadcast email, whatever you send is going to go to every subscriber who is still actively subscribed to your list. Hopefully, you now understand how to use a mini-course to drive repeat visitors back to your website. Implementing these strategies will result in more income from your internet marketing business. ________________________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. You do not want to distract your website visitors with an onslaught of options. Offer them a mini-course that hits a hot item for your prospects and they are very likely to want that course and come back to find out everything else that you have to offer. This is because it typically takes multiple exposures to make a sale and a mini-course allows you to get those multiple exposures. You do this by requesting the prospect's first name and a valid email address. You can also ask for the biggest question or struggle they have with the topic you are covering in your eBook business. What this does is give you the opportunity to really build rapport with your prospects by hitting a topic of pain or interest for them and recycle them back to your website and offer. The strength of the mini-course over other methods used to sell information products is that it lowers the resistance to receive emails. With most other forms of email marketing you are restricted to mailing your list once a week or month. However, with a mini-course you can email them every few days. Imagine you were offering a mini course where you sell information products about direct mail. In the 1st part you could talk about the type of postcards you should use. In the 2nd part you could talk about where the address should go. A mini course is also an excellent way to reuse content that you have used before. For instance, if you wrote an article for an article directory, you can reuse that same article as a part of your mini-course. A mini-course is not designed to be a thesis. It should be broken down into different, smaller pieces. Otherwise if you try to provide too much information in one shot, the prospects simply will not want to read the rest of the course and they will unsubscribe from you. The key with a mini-course is to provide one key takeaway for those who subscribe to it so that they will want more information from you. If you try to give them everything, they will not need to come back. That is the key for when you sell information products, keep them coming back for more! ________________________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don’t make any changes and include the bio below. However, all the time you invest in creating the eBook goes to waste if you are not successful in making sales. You must master the skill of how to sell information to get your moneys worth.Driving sales is critical in your internet marketing business. Having a cool web site if you do not make money on the internet is pointless. Having an eBook that includes the following will help increase your sales: 1. Title Page and Copyright Information You never get a second chance to make a first impression is a popular saying and the title page is the first impression. It needs to be readable. It does not matter if you go with a simple font or a bold font. However, you do want to make sure you provide your copyright information. 2. The Body This is the "meat" of your eBook so to speak. This is what people pay for so it is imperative that you spend the time necessary to provide your readers with the value they expect in the body. Otherwise your eBook business will fail. 3. Clickable Links Clickable links are one of the best ways to make even more money than you may have made from the initial sale. You can include links to other related products that you might offer for sale. You can also include affiliate links to products you will earn a commission on. Whatever software you use to create the eBook should provide directions on how to make your links clickable. 4. Resource Box Using the resource box is a great way to educate your readers about the products and services that you offer. If you do a good job in the rest of your eBook, your readers will want to know what else you have to offer and the resource box is where you can let them know. Include links to your web site and more information about yourself. 5. Free Bonuses Everyone loves getting something for free and this is where free bonuses come in play. In fact, if you do a good job with bonuses, there are some buyers who will purchase your eBook just for the bonus alone. Make sure you let your prospective buyers know how much the bonus is worth so that they can know what a great deal they are getting. By capitalizing on these five eBook features, you will master the art of how to sell information. You will develop a continuous stream of customers for your eBook business. As a result, you will set your selling information business up for success over the long haul. I follow the "shoot first and ask questions later" philosophy. This is great if you take criticism and rejection well. Unfortunately I am not that type of person. You see, I am not the type of person that likes to get all up in the business of others. I do not have a problem with helping someone with advice if they ask for it. What I will not do is offer advice without being asked first. As a home internet business owner, I have discovered that there are a lot of people who do not share this philosophy. They constantly email me with their advice and opinion on how to do things in my selling information business. Its amazing, its like they watch my every move and provide commentary on it. There are plenty of critics for you as an owner of a home internet business to point out your flaws. They know every mistake you make practically as soon as you make it and are quick to tell you about it. Some of them even make accusations against you based upon what they perceive to be your hidden motive behind the business decisions you make. It is amazing where people find the time to type up a 2-3-page email telling you why you are doing certain things in your business. They must be real online business prophets. It is too bad I do not possess their insight! This is exactly what I learned from Ricky Nelson about online business opportunities. As the son of Ozzie and Harriet, Ricky wrote a song that I liked as a kid. His style was more of the malt shop songs from the 50's until suddenly he had a change in style. It was made very clear how much of a shift he made at a concert he did in New York at Madison Square Garden. Everything was different, his music, his hairstyle and his clothes. In the middle of the show he got booed by the audience. Surprised and discouraged, Ricky left the stage. Later on he shared his thoughts: "I went to a Garden Party, to reminisce with my old friends, a chance to share some memories, and play our songs again. When I got to the Garden Party, they all knew my name, but no one heard the music- I didn't look the same. But it's all right now. I learned my lesson well. You see you can't please everyone so you gotta please yourself." Ricky later entitled these lyrics "Garden Party" and it became one of his best selling songs in his career. Even though he went against what the crowd felt he should be doing, he ended up being better for it in the end. Ricky correctly pointed out "you can't please everyone, so you gotta please yourself." I also believe you should add to this "you gotta please the Lord." The key lesson that I learned from Ricky Nelson is to be true to yourself. After all, if the critics knew what they were talking about, they would be building their own home internet business instead of criticizing yours! __________________________ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don't make any changes and include the bio below. If so, you want to make a note as to the strategies for how to do this. It can be done by identifying the elements of profit and how to manipulate them in order to generate more income. There are 4 profit points in any type of business in which you write ebooks and sell them for profits. By identifying these profit points and making the necessary changes, you will continue to increase the overall online profits you generate from the business. The first profit point is the way you go about ebook publishing creation. By looking at the procedure for how to create an ebook, you will identify how to do it in a more cost efficient manner. Even if you do all the work yourself, time is money and the more time you take the less money you make. To increase your online profits in this area, look for ways that you can write an ebook faster. For example, if you can purchase a private label rights product and make revisions to it, you will complete your ebook faster as oppose to having to write it completely from scratch. Profit point two is the process for how you get your ebook to the customer. The only delivery mechanism with zero costs is if you deliver your pdf ebooks electronically. Any other method has costs associated with it and the way to increase your profits is to find ways to reduce these costs. Profit point three is the process for how you promote your ebook using internet marketing strategies and techniques. It does not matter if you promote using free internet marketing strategies or paid online marketing strategies. You still want to identify the points that affect your profits. One of the first areas you want to look at is to examine every method that you use currently to promote your ebooks online. For all strategies that have a cost, you can identify ways to reduce the costs. For all free strategies, you can figure out ways to get more traffic for the same time or more traffic faster. Profit point four is the process of your sales page or the web site in which you sell your pdf ebooks. You would be amazed at how small changes to your web site can have a dramatic impact on whether people buy from you or not. Changes such as graphics, background color, how the information is laid out all impact how many sales you will make. One area you want to test extensively is your web site headline. These are the first words that the visitor sees when they come to your web site. Web site tests have concluded that just by using a different headline with everything else remaining the same it can have dramatic differences to the amount of people who become customers. By identifying the 4 profit points and figuring out how you can be more efficient and effective, you will dramatically improve your online profits. As such, you will sell more pdf ebooks at higher prices, with fewer expenses. ------------ Copyright Stephen Beck, 2009 You have permission to reprint this article, as long as you don't make any changes and include the bio below. ------------ Stephen Beck teaches you how to begin a real home business.
