Burr's and CookiesI am back again, with much news.
Thankfully, I have not taken Strep...I am so glad. Strep is not a joy to deal with. And I have two other, rather interesting things that have happened today: I went over to my friend Hayley's house today, and we went in the weeds. In the back of her yard, is just an enormous area filled with weeds, by the ponds. Their are several trees as well. So we went trudging in the weeds, enduring several squishy weed holes, and prickley plants (no poison ivy that I know of). We stopped to see my sister, Chloé, and her friend (and Hayley's sister) Brynn's tree fort. Their was a large tree, and they had laid branches over it and such, and made a charming little fort...I'm thinking of a story plot that could go wonderfully with it...anyways, back to the story. Well we had one mishap at the fort; their is several branches that go up and act as stairs, and Hayley went up and broke a higher branch off accidentally. And then a branch broke and Brynn fell out of the tree...luckily she wasn't hurt, only surprised. We slogged further on and fell several times from the result of large felled trees that were buried under the weeds. We reached an area with several huge logs and then branches piled on top...to form a well-though-out-and-put-together fort. It really seemed like a small house. And their was a little vine swing too. But Hayley and I heard several squeaks, and being the shrieky girls we are, we ran. When we got back to the house, I discovered I had several, friends. No, no animals. Just thousands of burr needles. My jeans were covered with thousands of teeny little burr peices. Hayley and I picked off as many as we could with our fingers. I borrowed a pair of Hayley's pants to wear, for my own were rather prickley. And then I thought of something. What if we tried to vacuam the burrs off? In the end, we took out a little vacuam, put my pants on the table, and vacuamed them. It was a rather hilarious experience. It took out some of the larger burr remains, but the small, splinterish ones are still stuck to my pants. Hopefully a wash will take them out!
And then my next, interesting story. Not as funny though. My sisters (Chloé and Grace) are in the musical "Hansel and Gretal" at out community center. I have been in several of their musicals and know everyone who directs the musicals very well. In fact, one of the main director, has a daughter (Hannah) who is a little older than me, and we are great friends. So I was asked to help out with the play. I went to rehearsel tonight (pardon the spelling) and helped out. First we (Hannah and I) taught the Gingerbread dancers (little girls) several songs and dances. One of the girls, Paisley, was extremely disruptive. She was very much of a handful. Then we helped out some of the older children (grades 1st-5th) with their lines...none of the children really respected us as directors helpers. Which made it slightly difficult. But it went fairly smoothly.
That's just my day today, rather long and interesting though. :] ~Eletha 10:40 PM - Nov. 14, 2008 - post comment
