May. 2, 2006 - Fun,fun and more fun!

hey ya'll I have some good news! sat. in the morning my sister Jessi will be picking me & my horse up and takeing me to my aunt's house and me my sister & my aunt will be trail rideing and it will be sooooo much fun! I went twice with my aunt. 1st. time I went trail rideing I only went for 45min. the other time I went was I think 3hrs. 20min. It was fun but my feet were very sore because I just got this boots they cost alot of money and They were men's size 9 but they fit like a womens like 8. I guess they just come like that . That is what the sales person said. I liked them and I had room to grow in them. but they hurt when I rode my horse... This time my sister & me & my aunt are going so it is going to be alot of fun.. can any of you tell me at least 5 things you would take on a trail ride. I will answer this on thurs. Bya'll! I wish I had a horse!I take english riding lessons but thats only once a week.Well lets see....i've never been on a trail ride before (except for the ones where you got a leader and everything) but I'd defenitly bring water and a first aid kit.Other then that,i don't really know...

May. 4, 2006 - Five things on a trail ride

I take electrolites for the horse just in case it gets tied up and dehydrated. A hoof pick is handy too incase the horse picks up a stone. A cell phone for emergencies. Granola bars and a water bottle that can be fastened on the saddle horn. And oh there's so many other things that I take.

I have an oil skin hat and coat that I tie onto the back of the saddle. Bug repellant in case the bugs are bad (I can use it on the horse between the ears and under the neck and belly where the bugs like to bite). I have a small first aid kit in my saddle bags and sometimes a treat for the horse when we stop for a snack. (never feed them from my hand because it teaches the horse to look for food when they smell people--they start biting that way). I also sometimes take a grooming brush just in case it's a long ride and the horse gets salt deposits around the saddle from sweating.

Other than that, I can't think of much:)
