Nativity Kidnap!

We EVENTUALLY found the Nativity Scene! It went up yesterday.I love it's presence in our home as it brings focus back to the true meaning of Christmas!

We have a problem though.........

See if you can spot it.... here is the first shot ......

And here is the second shot....................

YES.......BABY JESUS HAS BEEN REMOVED!

Little Tanna-Jayde was found playing with him behind the couch!

Codey said..." You'd better put him back, because without him there's NO CHRISTMAS!"

Love Fiffi

i love to hear children talk about God. when we meet someone, my 6yo ds is always asking me, "do they believe in God?". the same question is asked of people in movies--it explains why they don't know what to do when they should be praying. he's been asking the m*slim neighbors, too, and i have been explaining that they are saying "yes", but it doesn't mean they are Christians... he's refining his witnessing skills.

years ago i bought my kids a really cheap porcelain nativity set that is theirs to play with. we hide baby Jesus until Christmas and the wise men are always put far away to travel closer as the time draws near. because they enjoy it so much, and the set has seen better days, i bought them the playmobil nativity & wisemen sets this year (on a shopping trip in greece).

one of the reasons i don't have the nice display going on is because i don't want local m*slims to think we're worshipping it! many have never been in a church, but they have heard that there are all kinds of statues & pictures in there that they consider pagan. ; - ) mary

Dec. 7, 2006 - Hiding Jesus

We traditionally hide Jesus until Christmas Eve! Placing Jesus in the manger is a treasured and ceremonial role.....we ended up having to do it three consecutive times on Christmas Eve so that each child had their turn.

My DS noticed the missing baby right away. He just thought you had the pictures out of sink and that Baby Jesus was still in Mary's belly. And He must be ready to come out any minute because all the people there. LOL

I just watched the video on your side bar. First I LOOOOVE your accent. (I'm sure I have one to you!) Second, the eldest, his name escapes me at the moment, is FUNNY, and creative. I love how he was using his foot to hold the measuring tape. LOL Thanks for sharing.

I too have had a Jesus kidnapper. I think it neat that they like to play out the story or just have pretend . Makes it a little more personal for them.
