Wonderfully surprised!

Today was my littlest one's first day at playgroup. For the last month, I have been preparing her for the big day. I have told her " You are going to school and will play with lots of friends! ' She would get excited, but always end the conversation with " But don't leave me Mamma!"

At 6 :15 this morning she came running into our room, wanting to get dressed immediately! I was pleased to see she seemed happy but was sure tears would be the order of the day!

She wanted to wear ONLY pink (panties included!) and her very colourful hat. I managed to get her to wear a blue skirt though!!!!!

She was very proud of her Barbie bag from Granny in Durbs!

So off we set................I settled her in at 8 :00am and left with instructions from the teacher to be back at 10:00am. I was SO positive that I would get a frantic call to come and collect her! No such thing............... I arrived to pick her up and she was happily climbing the jungle gym with a couple of buddies! Apparently 2 other kids had gone histerical.Tanna had shed a couple of tears when she discovered I was not there, and then cheered up very quickly!

Hope tomorrow goes as well!

Farming Around!

This is just a quick catch up on what has been going on in our lives!  My in-laws took the boys back to their farm on Saturday 9th. It was a spur of the moment thing. Grandpa just suggested that they come and stay over SOMETIME,...... and Codey said 'What about NOW?" So started the mad rush to pack! We said to our very technology obsessed boys..."Remember, Granny and Grandpa don't have TV or computors!" They made sure their cellphones, Playstation, Laptop and PSP were packed!!!!

Daily, I have been phoning them to check up. They are having a ball! They are enjoying teasing Sebastian(the enormous turkey), catching the runnaway hens, collecting the newly laid eggs, cleaning out the fishpond (fun???? they seem to think so!), shooting Grandpa's bow and arrows and going on game drives! They even told me "Grandpa said he would let us shoot one of his guns!"..... I honestly did NOT need to know that! Today Granny is taking them to watch 'Stormbreaker"  and tomorrow they are going fishing with Grandpa.

Meanwhile Boyd and I are able to finish our sentences, watch movies of our choice and act like we're on honeymoon again!!!!(Oooh-la-la). Why didn't we think of this before?

Nativity Kidnap!

We EVENTUALLY found the Nativity Scene! It went up yesterday.I love it's presence in our home as it brings focus back to the true meaning of Christmas!

We have a problem though.........

My Handy-Men make a Go-Kart!

My hubby is talented at MANY things, but one of them is not handy-man-fixer-things! When anything needs to be hung or painted, when DIY shelves or computor workshelves need to be erected,........ I do not ask for his assistance, as I know it just ain't his cup of tea! This works well for me, as I love doing ALL these sorts of jobs! I feel comfortable with a power drill or a paint brush in my hand.

Getting back to the reason for this post............ Hubby went to Builders Warehouse over the weekend and bought every imaginable screw size, drills, glue gun,drill bits, chisels, 3 wood saws etc..etc.. He was quite excited with his purchase, and I was a little surprised!? Then he offloaded some long planks, and presented them to the boys and annouced that they were to draw a plan and make a Go-Kart! Which they did, without anybodys help!

Then I realised what Hubby was doing. Besides giving them a fun project to do, he was ensuring that they learn about handy-man stuff.

They are having enormous fun with it!

Chains & SnowFlakes!

For the next two weeks I have lined up some fun creative activities! Yesterday we made Christmas chains (out of wrapping paper) which now decorate our Family Lounge. The boys had a competition to see who could make the longest......great motivator!

Today we made snowflakes for the windows. Our Christmas's are ALWAYS hot and void of any snow,......so I thought it would be kinda nice to 'cool the temperature down' with a few snowflakes on the windows! I was surprised that the boys loved this activity so much! We laminated them so that they looked even better against the window!

We took a couple of the 'dud' snowflakes and used them as templates.......

Nasty little critters!

A nasty tummy bug is doing it's rounds in my family! The last to fall victim to this menace was Tanna-Jayde! She had complained once in this morning that she ' need to go doctor, tummy sore!"

The only one who hasn't had it is ME....but I'm not susceptable to tummy problems! It's my Birthday tomorrow......(i just threw this in!! Teehee!) and I would hate to be sitting on the bog all day!!!!!!

On the way to tennis Tanna let rip, and the mornings food landed in her lap and pooled in the car seat!!! URGHHHH! I can endure many things.........except heights and vomit are not on that list!

My birthday wish is:...... that the day be vommit free, sunny and filled with happy times with my family! and of course a few presents would be great!!!
