What changes occur in a life!!!

My almost 15 yr.old dd is leaving September 8th for Arizona for a year! It is a voluntary missions trip with a family we respect and trust. We trust our God most of all. There was much prayer and just actually thinking it through. She will be a large help out there. She will learn all about being on the mission field. Being the only white family, learning to cope, with God's help, the loneliness of the mission field and learning how to serve God. Through all of our prayer, the only "red" flag, if you will, was our time we will lose with her. So, we could not keep her home do to selfish reasons. She will be homeschooled by the woman who is also a pastor. She is a very gifted teacher-gifted by God- and I have had the privelage of sitting under her. She is so ready, she thinks. We can't comprehend a year away from each other; how can a teen?

This is not written in stone; if she just can't do it, we can always fly her home. And my dh says we can go see her in January or February. I just can't believe I only have three weeks with one of my sunshine girls. It would be a little easier if she were 18.

My dh and I are renewing our wedding vows on the 2nd. Most people wait until their 25th anniversary. We are doing it for our 23rd because of some serious life lessons we have gone through and want the world to know what God can do in a marriage and how you can still love each other with Jesus' help through it all.
