| Sep. 4, 2006 Putting Beloved Buddy down |
Over a year ago, our beloved Great Dane/ Newfoundland, Buddy, was diagnosed with bone cancer. The vet said he had weeks left (Aug.4,'05).Our family layed hands on him in the name of Jesus and believed this was a mountain that needed to be removed. And you know what God says if you have the faith of a mustard seed and need a mountain moved?? Well, slowly but surely, the growth on his leg disappeared. Our 8 year old dog became puppy-like. He played and didn't cry out in pain anymore and acted as if he had never had any cancer.
A few weeks ago, a new growth appeared above where the old growth was. He is nine and we believe God gave us an extra year, so we are "putting him down" tomorrow afternoon. Last August, I had lamented on my blog but withdrew it because of the miracle God allowed us to have. Now, we must grieve again but it doesn't seem as bad because of the blessing of having him for that extra year.
My beloved dd, 14 is leaving for Arizona this Friday. I am driving her the 3 and 1/2 hours to the airport. Atleast we will have a nice time of it......She is so excited and my peace is totally from God about all of this.
My mom is coming tomorrow in the midst of all of this and our family has been estranged from her since October because of her unforgiveness towards whomever and just plain not liking my husband. She is coming, she says, with a repentant heart towards us so, I'm excited yet dreading .....the unknown does that....and not seeing her for almost a year...there is a long history...God says to honor my mom, so I wish to do so. And I do love her...just awkward around her and my stepdad because we don't know each other anymore.
I drive for the public school system and they start tomorrow. I'll be starting my dd, 8 next week. Looking forward to some reading on the couch!!!! New adventures in our minds with our Sonlight Curriculumn.
Gayle, thank you so much for responding to my previous blog. I didn't look at it that way but I'm grateful you would give me encouragement. I enjoy your blog, as well.
God bless, Lianna |
| Sep. 8, 2006 - God bless your family... |
as you adjust to life "after Buddy". We had to put our beloved Casey (17.5 years old ) to sleep 5 years ago--July 2001. In September 2001 we were blessed with a very different dog "Lucky" who had been abused and desperately needed our family. That was the healing that our family needed. Praying for the healing that your family needs...in God's timing.
