Adjustments in Homeschooling

This week, my dc, 15ds,14dd,7.5dd, and I have had "Home Ec". We still had vegetables from the garden not put up yet. Because of all the turmoil in our home about not having the dh show the ds how to obey better, we took this week off from most book work and got the vegetables almost all put up! Praise God!
Well, after much prayer and God doing a mighty work in all of us, dh is back on board in full agreement about hsing with some adjustments. I told the dc that hsing comes with lots of adjustments until we figure out what works best for us.
So, we all did the beets together on Mon. and Tues., on Wed, ds got caught up on last year's Eng. that he had failed the year before, and dd's and I made Salsa...yesterday, I got caught up on little things around the house and dd's "visited me"..read to each other and did some writing...today and all Fridays from now on, are "baking day"-making bread and snacks as much as we can, in the time alotted. We have bible study group for the whole family on Friday nights with a group of other believers (non-denominational) and we have a potluck at 5:30 with them all, so we need to cook for that, as well.
Ds is cleaning, weeding, throwing in his room today...it's almost lunch time so, I guess I'll go do that. It will take some time, but with God's help, we are on our way! I'm so blessed...
oh yes, and I died to wanting "me time"....I get up between 4 and 5...God always wakes me before my alarm goes off...lol...and that is time to be with Him and have him adjust any attitudes of not having a servant-attitude.....I have only been "letting Him" wake me like this for about two months now...I always thought I "needed" my sleep....or so I believed......wow, what a blessing to rise early! I do have a bus run that cuts into the morning and afternoon, but it helps pay the bills. And it is Veteran's day today, so no bus run today

Nov. 19, 2005 - waking early
ah, I need to learn that skill. My boys are up at 6 am every day, and I've taken the attitude that it's early enough. But a quiet hour with God before my day started would do wonders for my attitude all day long.

Hi there :)
God had to help me rise early, Heather.
I have wanted to be a morning person most of my married life (22 years). When I finally committed to putting Him first, He is the One that has helped me get up early and not fall asleep during Scriptures or praying. We have to be willing to do (in any area He wants us to obey) and He will do the rest. I will pray for you right now that He will help you be with Him before anyone else. I believe He will!
In His Love,
Lianna
