Gone Away....

Mar. 6, 2007 ~ What I would give for a bite of steak....

Please never mention cream-of-chicken soup to me again. ;)

Yes. With that in mind, I'll continue. There aren't many foods I can eat, seeing as how I'm not allowed to chew. My food list has been narrowed down to the aforementioned soup, applesauce, mashed potatoes, oatmeal, ice cream, and ground up pasta. (By the way, ground up pasta has a strange texture. =P)

Unfortunately, my brother is brimming with ideas. You should hear him suggest foods. "Hey Christian, you could put peanut butter, jelly, and bread in a blender, and smash it up so you can eat it!" I mean, he doesn't seem to get that I might not like certain things. "Blend up salad dressing and carrots!" He's got the idea stuck in his head that I should just put all the foods I like into a blender and make paste out of it. "Blended up stuff is just the same as regular!" Yeah right. I think he should break his own jaw, so I can force all his blended mush down his own throat. ;)

And Dad bought a few huge containers of 'Myoplex Lite' protein drink. This stuff has every vitamin in the book. I actually think they made up some these supposed nutrients to make it look better. Biotin? Selenium? Molybdenum? What in the world are these things? At least I'll never run out of Pantothenic acid. Myoplex has 100 percent of my daily Pantothenic acid. And I can't imagine how I would get all the Chromium I need without drinking it. Makes me wonder how I've survived all these years without having a single milligram of Chromium.... *Sigh* Unfortunately, they compromised taste for nutrition. It tastes just like ground-up vitamin. But at least if I can force myself to drink it, I'll be healthy. =P

You forgot to mention all of the fantastic milkshake/smoothie concoctions your awesome Mom has been making for you. And the garlic cheese mashed potatoes... don't forget to mention the garlic cheese mashed potatoes! (Don't mention the smoothie with the ground-up Nutri-Grain bar in it... )

What about pudding and yogurt? And jello?

Your mom's comment was so funny. I see where you get your sense of humor. :)

HEY! Are you taking pictures of all this, for posterity? And for your friends to see???? lol.

Wow, sounds a lot like me when I got a herbst on! You might know what that is, considering how you go to an ortho. It's a mouth appliance, and the first day I got it on, my mouth hurt SO bad! And that night we had steak! I was in so much agony because it hurt so much to chew! It also hurt a lot to swallow, because a bar behind my bottom teeth was in the way of my tongue. grr... it was a nightmare. I don't have the herbst on anymore. : ]
Btw, ever heard of chemistry? ;) Those things you mentioned (or at least a couple) are elements.
And yes, I wish I could draw like that too. My friend has drawn some of the best LotR drawings I've ever seen. Some people have all the talent... :)

Hey, I can make garlic cheese mashed potatoes!!! And, my mom is right, there's a lot more you can eat, you just haven't found it yet. ;)

Jello and pudding sounds good... What flavor jello and pudding do you prefer? :)

Sorry I'm getting your letter out so late.... I'm working on it, I promise. :)

BTW, I just found a couple of Jane Holloway's poems, and the one I posted was the better one. I'm looking for more of her stuff, but I don't think she's got much out yet. And yeah, she's kind of a melancholy writer...

There's lots of soups you can have. You can have grits, Ramen Noodles, pudding, yogurt, jello. Go to Sonice, they have thousands of drink and smoothie choices. Refried beans mixed with sour cream and cheese. i would try to blend up a bunch of stuff just to see what it was like! Hmm, how bout a steak and potatoe dinner complete with vegetables all blended together?

So do mashed potatoes, but I'm guessing that you are rather tired of them. :D ;) Anyway . . . Oooh, your bro sounds exactly like mine. Always planning some way to get back at us. Heh, but we always are the ones pounding them . . .hehehehe. :D Ick! Cream of chicken soup is nasty stuff. Hope U get better soon Christian!!!

Last year I had springs in my mouth, I couldn't talk or eat. I lived on potato soup all through Christmas! My mom's friend makes the BEST potato soup ever. You can make it really soupy, so it's great when you can't eat "real" food.

...on one of your very painful posts.Owie! Why do you do these things to yourself! It's like my mom said in one of her comments.
You are a walking disaster! It's suprising you're still *walking*

But ya know... you could probley make a smoothie Book has been longing after...
Ice cream, frozen strawberry, frozen blueberry and a banana. But mostly the Ice cream, mostly the Ice cream.
Ice cream helps numb the mouth too! Book uses it for her braces sometimes.... And we both used it to ward off math depretion after the CSAPS. Ergh. I did not have fun at that place.....

Hi there! Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm so sorry about your broken jaw-that sounds awful.
You might appreciate my little story:
One of our horses got kicked in the face by another horse and broke his upper jaw. It split his upper jaw right in the middle. The vet, after knocking him out with good drugs and 4 adults sitting on him, wired his jaw back together using a black and decker power drill and heavy duty wire.
The vet had to use a big rubber mallet and a 2 by 4 to knock his jaw back into the proper position.
So, for 2 months, the poor boy had to have warm mash and then we had to rinse his teeth with a syringe full of water after every meal.
What an ordeal it was.
I really feel for you and hope it won't take too long to heal-especially so you can eat real food again!! Holly
