Got it!
May. 9, 2007
Any messages while I was out?
So, I'm back. It's been a long time, and i'm not gonna say i took a hiatus or anything. I just stopped blogging! However, lately I've been missing the blog 'scene', and I'm back! So. All the people on my friends list, look for comments from me, I'll definitely be finding my way around this place again. Plus, I have to update that pic for my picture. It's amazing how much you can change in 3/4 a year! Yeah, I'm a lot taller now... it is fun being 6'2, though, you can see above some crowds... I'll be starting a little fun thing on my blog, called the Unspoken but Nonetheless there Laws of Life. There'll be a new every so often, and if, once you see what I mean by them, you like the idea, feel free to post any of yours! Hmmmm, gotta find a picture of the day... I've taken a lot lately, Ive gotta find some to use on the blog. So.... it's good to be back.

'Ello Againnnnn
Continuing the long standing tradition of lengthening the last letter in my post titles, I'm back at long last. I've been pretty busy lately, With the holidays upon us I've been spending a lot of time at work and the flower shop that my mom and dad work at. I feel pretty bad that jacacast 2 hasn't come out yet, and with all of jaca busy over the holidays, it's been like trying to get four or five needles out of a haystack and tie them together with a steel cable. (Gotta love those metaphors :) So I've been spending my time reading, playing guitar, and arguing with my sister over what holiday movie we want to see. (Any Suggestions?) Tomorrow we're going for a picnic and hike, I hope to take some more pictures tomorrow. I realized today while on the bus coming from work that I haven't read anything that could remotely be considered Holiday reading. No Christmas mysteries, no folktales, nothing! What I'm reading is Destiny's Way and a book on mythology. Along with The Cat Who Saw Red by Lillian Jackson Braun, part of her Cat Who... books. I really like them and recommend that anyone read them, my favorite being The Cat Who Could Read Backwards. Good Stuff! I like to read light and fluffy things around the holidays, somehow it seems to fit. But no Christmas stories. Boy, I'm out of it. Oh, and by the way........... The temperature out side as of a few days ago... and it's still holding there,

And yet that was not today's random photo!
Here it is, taken by me, of course,

I like it more because of the mood set by the photo than the quality.
Catch You People Later!

I'm doing nothing!

Look for it soon, with reviews of Happy Feet and the Prestige, as well as a section on holiday traditions and books. Until then, you can find us on www.jaca4.bravehost.com. Feel free to join talktojaca while you're at it, I want to get the forums off the ground. Monday was Alices birthday, she wouldn't let me forget for a good bit anyway. We'll i'm now going to go get ready for the day. Later!

Aughhhhhhh!
There is nothing happening lately! No-ting! (Say The two syllables together fast)
Sooo, I worked at our holiday boutique on saturday, washed dishes and served tables. I liked washing dishes, they had a huge industrial strength dishwasher, and things worked at a steady pace. On friday I went and checked out the new Barnes and Noble in Altoona. Don't get me wrong, I love books, and I read constantly, yet I was really turned off by this store. It was lit ala Giant Eagle, and There was not nearly enough seating. I'm the kind of guy who likes to sit in a store surrounded by books, in a soft chair, with Jamie Cullum on my mp3 player, and read. Oh Well. Didn't want to pay full price for books anyway. Quick, back to the library! I picked up my sisters birthday present at best buy, the new ___y K__h ____m. ( My sister reads my blog) I also picked up a little something for myself.....

Woot! I hope to get together tomorrow with the guys and record JacaCast #2; but until then...
John Out
PS. I made a little mistake in my comment for the last entry, we are going to release every other week, instead of bi-weekly.

Let it Snowwwwwwww!
It snowed for the first time last night; in the wonderful winterland of Altoona PA. It was very pretty, big fat snowflakes falling from the sky, bringing back thise nostalgic, warm, fuzzy fellings of winter. You know, like when your mom is making cookies and the snow is falling outside. And you break the cookie in half gleefully awaiting the gooey taste of a chocolate chip. Becasuse they're best when they just come out of the oven after wading home in a foot and a half of snow, carrying your snowboard, the last bits of that rush waning off. Because of that rush that comes when your'e hurtling down a slope with the wind whipping your hair, and that adrenaline pulsing through you in short, thrilling bursts. And you catch air off of that level spot on the hill just before the hill continues to fall, and you're feeling weightless as you fall in slow motion (or at least it feels like it) through the air, Before that jolt that comes from landing with your knees bent. And then you eat the cookie, while reading a book, in the blue armchair in the corner, the one that everyone else dislikes, but you love. But before I ramble, It snowed. It was nice. Today's random photo..... A look down one of the main streets in Altoona!

The run around of the town. Post any more questions you'd like to be answered by me.
Thought I might tell you people a little about Altoona, Pennsylvania and about me.
I live on a hill in this Altoona, making skateboarding quite interesting. Altoona is a railroad town at heart, with a bunch of tracks being a thirty second walk away from my house. Altoona has a neat railroad center, with trains that leave from it coming by our house.
Altoona is nestled in a valley, about three hours away from surch well known places as Pittsburgh, Hershey, and about 4 from Phillidelphia, depending on who you drive with.
Some noteworthy things in the below photo- not taken by me!
The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament- the one with the dome.
Gospel Hill, you can't see it but you can see the big flag mounted on top.
My house is more to the left and back.

And today's not so random photo... Of Altoona... Taken by me. The view from Garfield park, up my street a little ways. The Afore Mentioned Cathedral is a bit to the left.

We do have wolves and bears and other scary things.............But that's called Ebensburgh. (Annette will get that one )
Seriously, though, we do have wolves and other stuff like that, just up the mountain.

Sweetttttttttt!
Just wanted to thank Annette for posting pictures of me at half my current age.... It was really nice of her. Some people prefer to forget me as soon as possible.....
Anyway...
Just thought I would let everyone know what the picture was of. It was taken at the stone lime kilms at Canoe Creek Pennsylvania State Park. I stood there and waited until the sun shone through the gaps in the kilms. Here's a normal pic of the Kilms from the front. ( My Sister and dog are for size comparison only. ;)

Where my sister is walking towards you can see the hallwya type thing that I took the picture in.
And today's completely random photo... Of me contemplating the forest. :)

The Test
Fist off, I'm sorry I havn't been around for a while, I was with my mother in the hospital. For full details see her blog.
I'm excited to announce that I'll be taking my test for a red belt in jin pal hapkido soon! *insert generic happiness*. My birthday is on the same day. I had made a promise to myself that I would Be a redbeld by my birth day. Well, my mother had to go into the hospital, so my hopes of that were shot. So today at Hapkido class, my instructor informs me that he has a test opening on my birthday. How insane is that?

The summer reading program is completed...
So this afternoon, we journeyed to the altoona library, our local library. If you read my mother's blog, you have already heard of the family competition, and I am proud to say that I completed the program one minute ahead of my sister. Oh well, one victory at a time.
Anyway, lately I've been living through the heat that is the summer in mid pennsylvania... lots of swimming, skating and playing tennis. IN this heat I was prompted to post this in honor of my favorite sport. for anyone wondering, I ride Freestyle.

Ah, winter.

Well. After spending the morning at my karate school and the afternoon at my grandfathers working in the yard (Mowing grass is actually kind of calming.), I am home. I was looking through the entertainment section of my newspaper and found an article containing an interview with the movie Dead Mans Chest. I t seems that the next movie will be released on memorial day weekend, 2007. Thank you, movie industry. Way to shove my words back into my throat!. Oh well, time to eat and have a calm evening. Well look on the bright side. I'm not mowing or weedwacking.

Friday, July 7th, 2006
Today was a very busy day for me. It shouldn't have been, but still I feel as if this morning was, like, 12 hours ago! Wait, it was.
Moving right along, My best friend Alex and I went to Pirates of the caribean: Dead Mans Chest. It was enjoyable, yet The ending was to clearly a set for more movies to come. If there is one thing in the world that I am from now on to declare that I hate, its cliffhangers. Movies like dead mans chest contain to many of these. I know that it will seem a little strange, but consider this. The orrigional pirates movie came out in 2003. Now it is 2006. This means that in a mere three years or more, the next will come out, whose rumered title is At the Worlds End. I find that slightly disturbing. Or maybe I just had one to many popcorns at the theatre. Either Way, I’ll see you next time.
