A Taste of Oviedo, hosted by the Greater Oviedo Chamber of Commerce,
showcases area restaurants and booths representing local businesses,
artists and crafters, and is a great way to spend a day with family,
friends and neighbors. The event will take place on Saturday, April
8th, from 10:00am until 6:00pm, in the heart of downtown Oviedo
(Alexandria Blvd. at Alafaya Trail).
Tasty samples of menu items will be available for a small fee ($1.00 -
$4.50) from local restaurants including Toucan Willie's, CiGi's Pizza,
Latin American Delites, Steak Escape, Planet Smoothie, RJ Gators,
Donato's Pizza, Hot Dog Heaven of Oviedo, Chef Express, Boston Market
Catering, and D'Amici's Italian, as well as boiled sweet corn from
DUDA and a selection of premium meats and fresh-cut fruit from Publix
and more.
The popular Citrus & Celery Cook-Off, sponsored by Citizen's Bank of
Oviedo, features recipes by area residents that include ingredients
reflecting Oviedo's agricutural heritage. Love to cook? Be a part of a
tradition and compete in the Citrus & Celery Cook-Off. You could win a

Event Highlights:
A Kids Taste of Oviedo - a GIANORMOUS area dedicated to kids so that
they can experience their very own festival full of fun and healthy
things to do. Highlights include a Climbing Wall, Obstacle Course, two
Bounce Houses, Train Rides and carnival games for the whole family.
No Rules Chili Cook Off - Come out and watch as Teams prepare their
best chili receipe from scratch. No tasting til 3:00pm when a quarter
casts your vote for Best Tasting Chili or Best Booth Decor. No matter
who wins we guarantee a good time cookin.
Main Stage Entertainment Schedule:
Noon - Eyes on America
2:30pm - Jacqueline Jones - a Central Florida favorite for years, she
captivates audiences with her beautiful voice, charming wit and
polished showmanship.
3:45pm - Johnny Bulford - this young up-and-comer was the State winner
of the Colgate Country Showdown in 2004.
5:00pm - Raiford Starke - one of South Florida's most entertaining
musical artists, combining blues, country, folk and good old rock and
roll into one stunning repertoire.
Parking Information: Free shuttles are available to and from the event
from the Oviedo Marketplace.
