What:  Summer Camps for 2006
   
Where:  Nature’s Classroom Outdoor Environmental Studies Center
            13100 Verges Road, Thonotosassa, FL  33592
     
(Nature’s Classroom is located off Fletcher / Morris Bridge Road 
approximately six miles east of the University of South Florida.)
   
When:   Each camp runs for one week and is offered each of the four
            weeks of June starting June 5.  
            The programs will run from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. 
            These are not sleepover camps.  

Session 1          June 5 – June 9  
Session 2          June 12 – June 16
Session 3          June 19 – June 23
Session 4          June 26 – June 30
   
Parents are responsible for daily transportation of their child(ren).
   
Who:    Camp programs are being offered to any Hillsborough County
           child exiting 4th  – 7th grades.  Each camp is limited to 20
           participants per week.
   
How:   To enroll your child, please fill out an application and mail 
          (or hand deliver) to:
          Nature’s Classroom, Summer Camps, 13100 Verges Road, 
          Thonotosassa, FL  33592. 

Faxed copies will not be accepted.  Applications will be accepted on 
a first-come, first-serve basis.

Wilderness Camp                   Cost $80.00 
Spend a week in discovering your natural surroundings from plants to 
animals, solar cookers to the science of making ice cream. During this 
week you will fish and explore the river for other types of aquatic 
life, go on a bug hunt and search for edible plants, learn camp skills and 
so much more! Let your imagination set the limits for discovery.
   
Survival Camp                        Cost $80.00
Come on an outdoor adventure as you learn about the four essentials 
of survival and how to meet them in Florida’s wilderness.  Activities 
will include:  identification of beneficial and dangerous plants; fire 
building methods and techniques; methods of finding and conserving water, 
and construction of primitive survival shelters.  Additional activities 
may include:  tracking, hiking, animal identification, orienteering and 
archery.
   
SWFWMD Water Adventure Camp: Cost FREE – Sponsored by Southwest 
Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD)  
Come experience an outdoor adventure in Florida’s amazing water 
resources.  You will have the opportunity to become a master watershed 
detective by investigating the fascinating ecosystems within the Hillsborough
River Watershed.  Campers will seek out wildlife in their native 
habitats and learn about their roll in the watershed as well as their own 
place in the environment.  While investigating, participants will also 
have an opportunity to participate in boating and shoreline sampling to 
gain an appreciation of Florida’s delicate resources.  An off-site 
field trip is scheduled for Crystal Springs.
