Notes:
As the water cools in the Bay, sea cows are drawn to the warm water
discharging from the Big Bend Power Plant. When the water temperature
drops below 68 degrees, dozens of manatees will crowd into the inlet to
keep warm.
This Viewing Center is FREE to the public and is staffed with
volunteers who can talk about manatees and point out regulars. Admission and
parking are FREE; donations are accepted. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m
daily, except on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.
