The Seminole Wars Camping Trip April 27-29, 2006
This three day/2 night camping trip in the beautiful Hillsborough
River
State Park will provide an in depth history lesson featuring the
Seminole Wars.
We will cover the 1st Seminole War (1817-1818), the Second Seminole
War
(1835-1842) and the Third Seminole War (1855-1858).
We will learn how the Seminole Indians lived, cooked, provided food
and much
more. The trip will begin on Thursday evening with a cookout and end
on
Saturday with a trip to Fort Foster, the only standing replica of the
Second
Seminole War.
Registration includes Thursday evening cookout, Fort Foster admission
and
all materials and camp activities. Families will provide for and cook
their own
meals on Friday and Saturday.
Registration fee is $25 per person and children 3 and under are
free.You may
bring a tent or a camper. I MUST recieve all reservations no later
than
April 5th in order to insure campsites are available. Tose who have
credits from
the January trip, please contact me.

REGISTRATION FEES:
$25 per person over the age of 3. Thursday evening cookout, trip to
Fort
Foster, materials and activities are included in registration fee.
Each site allows 8 people (Age 3 and under not included). If there is
another family you wish to share a site with, please let me know. If
the numbers
don't work out, we will make every effort to place you on adjoining
sites. You
will need to bring your own tent or camper. No pets are allowed at the
campground.

cookout will be a hot dog roast. If your family does not enjoy hot
dogs,
please plan accordingly.

Should you decide to go after April 5th, I may be able to get
