The Importance of Family Tradition

Posted in You Shall Teach Your Children Deuteronomy 11 19

An acquaintance of mine wrote a good blog entry at his blog today and I wanted to share it. It's about the value of tradition within society and within families in particular. Visit A Talmid of Messiah if you have a chance, it's worth the read.

What we are teaching our children matters a lot. More is caught than taught.

Sorry for the short entry, but it is busy here at the moment.

It says Anonymous, but it's me, Jamie G (A Talmid of Messiah). Thanks for the nod and encouragement, it means alot to me. With my job it makes it real hard to forget the impact the words of parent, no matter how seemingly insignificant, can impact a child's life. This is why I am so taken with the wisdom in the Word of God, it really does come down to an issue of life or death, not only for an individual, but entire nations.

Thanks Jamie. :) So much of what you said speaks directly about our situation with our new kids. They come from a very similar life as your school mate and now they are in our home. Even last night we had some major issues with the kids, just dealing with their parent's lifestyles and the garbage that they've inherited. I think that's why your message meant so much to me. I have hope that there is hope for these two.
