A "Tasty" Lesson About Words
This year in My Fathers World
curriculum that we are using we are memorizing passages in
Proverbs. Yesterday we began to memorize Prov 16:24 "Pleasant words are
like honeycomb, sweet to the soul and heling to the bones."
As a sampling of what pleasant and unpleasant words are like I did an
example. First I let our boys have a taste of honey. Mmmmm it is so
good!! They wanted more! Then, I let them taste an unknown
substance that was bitter (vinegar). Yeuch . . .
pleack . . . Give me some water. So, I told them that maybe we
would have a new phrase in our house - "Are your words honey words or
vinegar words?" And as with many rules in our house they apply to mom
and dad too.
That's what the Academy is all about - we're ALL becoming more Christ like.
