For Such A Time As This

Day 5 - Time to rebuild
Now that our body knows we're serious and we're not giving up . . . let's do some serious rebuilding!! What am I talking about? Rebuilding neurokinetic connections! Teresa's words from p. 76 of Fit and Fabulous "One of the amazing benefits of T-Tapp is that once you rebuild that neurokinetic connection and some of that internal density, it's easy to maintain. That's why you do a bootcamp - to rebuild. T-Tapp is like a reward system. In the beginning, you're rebuilding and turning back time. Then, once you've rebuilt your body to work more efficiently, it's easier to maintain, and ultimately you'll only have to work out twice a week (depending on what you eat) to stay trim and feel terrific." She goes on to talk about soreness and gives this remedy - "treat yourself to a warm bath with Dead Sea salts. Salt soaks are also great for your skin, so it's a win-win, inside and out."
Tip of the Day - Remember to Breathe! p. 77 Fit and Fab
(Sorry this is a bit long . . . it's just such great stuff!!)
Proper Breathing - inhaling through the nose, exhaling through the mouth. "More oxygen in your bloodstream gives you more energy as well as a (much welcome) chance to pauses and refocus on form and the exercise you're performing. Most of us habitually get only a third of the oxygen that we're capable of taking in. Yet oxygen triggers countless chemical reactions in the body that can help you get trim and feel terrific. For instance, when oxygen reaches fat molecules, it breaks them down into carbon dioxide and water. The carbon dioxide is then exhaled, the water flushed away, and the fat is gone for good!
During many of the exercises, I say "inhale big, exhale bigger" - and here's why. As you age atrophy tends to occur in the muscles between the ribs, often due to shallow breathing, which causes the rib cage to expand. This is why so many men and women get thicker waistlines and barrel chests as they get older. However, women who have had children suffer even more, because while the fetus is growing, it not only stretches the uterus, it expands the rib cage as well - especially in women with shorter torsos.
When you inhale big (until you feel your ribs stretch) and exhale bigger (all the way until your lungs empty the oxygen and you pull your ribs together), you're getting full extension and full contraction of the muscles between the ribs. This enables you to completely stretch the muscle fibers and build muscle density. It's an exercise in itself because when you tighten and tone these torso muscles, they cinch in like a corset. . . In fact, if you stick with this kind of breathing whenever you T-Tapp, you'll likely see an ich or more disappear off your rib cage within seven to ten days!"
OK - this reminds me of a song off a Christian album called "Pray Naked" (I think) "Breathe deep, breathe deep the breath of God." Isn't it amazing how the Lord made our body's to function?! WOW! I'm glad he's blessed Teresa with this wisdom.
Have a Blessed day, Ladies! Breathe Deep!!

May. 25, 2007 - Fly High!
Also, when you hold your breath, to hold it for a moment just after breathing out. It has the best calming effect.
Yes, to breathe... outside after a rain... or when the leaves are just coming out on the trees... and breathing in a way you can truly FEEL it!
