Hoe Down Hint and Inch Loss
I promised a tip on Hoe Down to strengthen abs and I actually have 2! See it was worth the wait.
Tip of the Day - Lock those Lats and Point those Toes!
1 - Lock the lats to help you maintain balance and use your cor for balance. How do you do that? When you roll your shoulders back tighten the muscles between the shoulder blades - your lats. This helps to stabelize you so you don't fall over .
2 - Point the toes as much as you can (on any move that's it's required). From Fit & Fabulous p.177 "Did you realize that pointing your toes increases the intensity of muscle activation within your abdominal muscles? Focus on pointing your toes to your personal max and feel the difference. Who ever thought that pointing toes could help flatten your tummy? Neurokinetic transmission is the secret to success."

So, after 2 days off after my Bootcamp I measured this AM. I lost a total of 5" during those 8 days. Now, I'll also say that I'm probably in the "less to lose" category so 5" is quite a bit. PLUS when you compare it to the 6" that I lost the previous month doing only BWO+ 3-6 times per week I'd say TWO is definately a step above and worth it when your strong enough.
What I'm most excited about is that my "furnace has been stoked". My understand is that now doing TWO every other day (EOD) for 2-3 weeks has the potential for greater inch loss. I'll measure in another month and we'll see!!
