What a Saturday!!!!

Posted in Curriculum

We planned to go to Sam's Club and later take the girls to see Charlotte's Web.   We had a great day in our PJ's, slept in and did absolutely NOTHING!  It was bliss, it really was.  Normally, I don't like non-productive days, but we throughly enjoyed not having the pressure of having to be somewhere, having to cook for some event, or having to spend money at a store.  We need more days like this!!!  I think my dh is relaxed.

On the HS front this is what we have planned for next year:

Science for both girls:
Animals Worlds by WP

Oldest daughter (3rd grade):
Saxon Math
Shurley English
Grammar Rock CD
Wordly Wise (vocab)
Spellwell
readers (from library)
Geography- GeoChallenge, already have this & we will keep a geography notebook to go along with it.

Youngest daughter (kindergarten)
WP Advanced LA
Saxon Math

We also need:
Saxon Math Manipulatives
Bible--we'll probably use something we already have
Financial Peace Jr for kids.
Art--I have an Abeka art book that I may use.
Music--both of the girls will be learning to play an instrument.

I know I don't have anything for history. We may do some historical lapbooks at various times throughout the year. The 2nd year we hs, we are looking at WP AS1 or Truthquest.  Someone on the Homeschool Review message board suggested that some of Little Brownie's reader's have historical content.  I think that's a great idea.

This picture is of our family in the fall of 2006.  An exact replica of the Nina came to our town, so we went to see it.  It was rainy & quite dreary, we were the only ones there!  We had a wonderful time & made a great family memory that day.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
