Tales from Jenirrania: The Price of Love- written by Hannah N. Becca, and Rachel.
I might as well share with you a little information on this book. First and foremost it is a story that Myself (Hannah) and two of my friends are writing. We have each taken certain parts of the story and are working them to the outline. Because we already completed the book, but as we went over it we discovered that our book needed much work done to it. So here is the first chapter (more like the first draft of the chapter) of one of the three books in the series.
Enjoy and please give me feedback!
Chapter One
The golden sun was shinning brightly over a glittering dirt path. Grass was over grown and edged the side of the path leading from a mansion to the rest of the world. Daisies, poppies, lilacs and many other wild flowers popped their little stem bodies out of the lushes earth; bringing more color to the plan grass. Pressed up against a cobbled stone wall covered almost entirely with ivy and intertwined with small roses, was a young woman, Myra De’Colsair.
A basket lay in front of the young woman, with almost every wild flower imaginable filling it. Her black shoes lay far from her, for she wanted her feet bare so she could feel the unruffled ground and morning dew grass run in-between her toes. An enchanting smile was upon her calm face; she held a forget-me-not near her nose and inhaled the lovely aroma the flower possessed. Her dark green eyes gazed around the field of her mansion and peered upon nightingale perched on a branch of one of the many apple trees aligning the wall. The apples upon the tree looked splendid, and indeed they should, for they were ripe and ready for picking; the blossoming red color made anyone starve with hunger at the sight of them. Myra stood to her feet; her light green dress met at her ankles; over the upper part of the dress was a vest, which was a darker shade of green. She reached for her sun hat, which was lying beside her basket and placed it on her head. Her blonde hair was up in a loose bun; strains of hair had fallen and blew gently in the spring breeze. She jumped as high as she possibly could to grab the delicious apple, but it was too high up for her to reach. She tried again and wasn’t successful. Suddenly she felt a tug at her waist; she looked down a saw two arms of a man wrapped tightly around her. She turned to her left, but he also turned as she did, so she turned to her right but again he turned the other way. Slightly irritated and frightened she swept around once more but wasn’t able to see who had embraced her. As suddenly as he had grabbed her, he began to tickle her stomach. She laughed out loudly and began to squirm in his arms. She pounded her fists upon his arms, but he would let his grasp loosen.
“Oh please stop!” She cried out, tears were streaming down her face from her laughter.
“No,” she heard the man say, pleasingly, “You must guess who it is before I let my prey go,” he insisted.
“Sean!” Myra shouted, he let go and she turned to embrace him. She gazed up into his mossy greenish blue eyes and smiled brightly, he smiled back at her. His dirty blonde hair was blowing in the wind. He stood tall at 6’3 and had the build of a warrior. He looked up at the apple Myra had been trying to grasp,
“Did you want that apple?” he questioned, she nodded. Breaking the embrace, Sean walked steadily over to the apple tree and began to climb into it. Myra watched as he climbed onto the steady branch and reach out for the apple, without a seconds delay he plucked two apples.
“Here you are” he carefully held onto the branch above with one hand and leaned down towards Myra giving her the two apples in the other hand. Myra reached up and successfully retrieved the two apples. Within a minute Sean was out of the tree and sat next to Myra, whom was sitting in the shade of another apple tree next to the stone wall. Myra handed him an apple and they both ate them peacefully. As soon as they had only the core of the apple left they threw them as far as they could and let out a sigh of satisfaction. Myra took a hold of Sean’s rather large hand and looked at him seriously.
“Why did you come here today, Sean?” Myra asked, Sean turned his head away and sighed heavily. “Well?” Myra asked again. He turned back at her, his face was filled sorrow and his smile had faded into a frown. He placed his hand on Myra’s face and held her hand.
“The king has declared war against Do’om, and I have enlisted to be apart of the Royal Army. I leave tomorrow,” Myra gasped and felt a tear trickle down her cheek. Sean quickly wiped it away.
“Don’t cry Myra, please don’t. I couldn’t bear leaving you like this,” Sean pulled her close to him and held her as she wept. She looked up at him and controlled her tears.
“You’ll write me almost every week while you’re gone so that I will know that you are safe.” Myra said, he smiled lightly,
“I will write you as much as I possibly can” Sean said.
Shalom,
My name is Hannah. I am a fifteen year old girl saved by the grace of God! I am living to give all the glory and honor to my Jesus. I love the Lord with all my heart and I strive to be with Him. I am an only girl and I have three awesome (though sometimes crazy) brothers, an amazing momma and our dog Wezzy. I am a writer of music, poems, stories and lyrics. I enjoy singing, writing, playing piano, reading, studying Gods word, drawing/sketching and dance. I have written three songs on the piano and I long to have them down on paper soon. I love to be in the Word and spending time with God. Yahweh is my hero, my savior, my King and my love! If you are ever in need of prayer, Id love to pray for you! I am currently pursuing my career in counseling 5-15yr olds with broken families, or that just need someone to be there for them! "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 'The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. 'There is no commandment greater than these." Basically Love God; Love Others! So I guess this is a somewhat brief description of who I am. If you read Greetings you will find out more of what this blog is about!
May the Lord protect and defend you! In Christ, Hannah.
