Writing a Novel Dos (Using the Advenutre Novel Curriculum)
You might remember me talking about writing a novel and if not you can scroll down and read it.
Anyhow, novel writing isn't easy! I thought I had the plot and story line, but I didn't. It has changed completely and I would like to share with you about my story.
Name: Caleb Judah Greenberg
Age: 17
What I see my hero doing: Applying for the USA Army and isn't accepted. Goes under cover to rescue his father.
The Story Goal: To rescue his father from the Nazi's
[ So that's a little bit about what the book is]
We then had to write a scene of something horrible that the hero doesn't want to happen, the following is so:
I could feel my heart racing. Again I was punched.
"Don't try my patience boy, how did you get in here?" A German officer asked. I shuttered, feeling blood dripping from my forehead. .
"By the help of God," I replied bitterly. My father was only a few minutes out of reach, but I hadn't been so successful in rescuing him. Before I had entered his room, a man began to walk towards me, not just any man but the German officer. After hours of interagation he discovered that I wasn't a Nazi, but a spy- or so he thought.
"Then maybe this will make you talk" he said evilly. Feeling in utter pain I wondered what other type of physical tourture they would put me through, I didn't care. The next second made my heart drop to my feet, and my face tighten with fury. For there standing beaten before me was my father. A gun was pointed at his head.
"So I am sure you sill talk with your fathers life on the line. Again I ask, how did you get in here; and who are you working for?"
I wanted my father alive- it was my only choice to tell him.
I took a deep breath and told him everything. How I got in and who had sent me. Once I finished I wished I was dead for the mans face looked devilish.
"Well see it wasn't that hard, now was it boy?" I looked away from his glace. He shoved my father towards me. I felt a smile and a sweep of relief come over me.
"Son I am so prou-" a shot was fired and my father started to fall in my arms. He looked at me, gasping for breath, "I love- you" he uttered and then died in my shaking arms. I was confused and hurt, my eyes burned with tears of hate. I helped my father to the ground. "I love you papa" I whispered. Being blinded by anger burning through my body, I barely knew what came over me. No matter how weak my muscles were, I found the strength brought on by rage that it almost frightened me. The German officer laughed at my believable defeat. I leaped over my fathers body and attacked the officer. Suprisingly he wasn't prepared. I knocked his gun out of his hand and with all my strength punched him in the gut. I then knocked him out cold. Then I tied and gaged him. I looked at my fathers dead body, what else was I to do? My life seemed meaningless now. "Lord help me" I prayed.
Obviously Caleb doesn't want to find or see his father die/dead. So I had to write the thing the hero didn't want to have happen.
Tell me what you think and don't worry there will be more to come on this story :)
In Christ,
Hannah

About the Author
Shalom,
My name is Hannah. I am a fifteen year old girl saved by the grace of God! I am living to give all the glory and honor to my Jesus. I love the Lord with all my heart and I strive to be with Him. I am an only girl and I have three awesome (though sometimes crazy) brothers, an amazing momma and our dog Wezzy. I am a writer of music, poems, stories and lyrics. I enjoy singing, writing, playing piano, reading, studying Gods word, drawing/sketching and dance. I have written three songs on the piano and I long to have them down on paper soon. I love to be in the Word and spending time with God. Yahweh is my hero, my savior, my King and my love! If you are ever in need of prayer, Id love to pray for you! I am currently pursuing my career in counseling 5-15yr olds with broken families, or that just need someone to be there for them! "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 'The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. 'There is no commandment greater than these." Basically Love God; Love Others! So I guess this is a somewhat brief description of who I am. If you read Greetings you will find out more of what this blog is about!
May the Lord protect and defend you! In Christ, Hannah.
