I'm Jumping Off the Assembly Line!!

    I was amazed when I read Chris Davis in "I Saw the Angel in the Marble" talk about setting a context in which to home educate. Then, I was excited to read "Thomas Jefferson Education" by Oliver DeMille. Now, I am finally making the jump to stop doing "school at home" after reading and listening to "Leadership Education" by Kerry Beck at Curriculum Connection.
     I have always seen education as more than academics, but I have subtly bought into the curriculum trap, each one seeming better than the last. Somewhere along the way, our education began to look like "school" too much. I needed to read and hear this voice from the wilderness calling me back to my original calling to educate my children to be passionate about Christ and serve Him without compromise.
    God called us to home educate and I know His plans are for us to prosper and have a vision to serve Him, fulfulling the purpose we are called to this earth to complete. I just pray I stay steadfast in my convictions.

Hi. Brand new homeschoolblogger here. Just read your post. I'm just coming into the realization myself of how much I myself have been trying to have "school at home." Major paradigm shift happening. My husband and I are in the process of reading "A Thomas Jefferson Education." Thanks for sharing. I'm reminded to read what Kerry Beck wrote (one of the many things on my to-do list!).
