We dyed Easter eggs today! We read in our Kids Praying for Kids about how the children in the Ukraine decorate their eggs. They use wax on their eggs to get multiple colors... so we tried it.
Here 's the one I did:
This is one my 8 year old son did:
And here is my 5 year old daughter's egg:
This one is our 3 year old son's:
Daddy learned a new game from his long lost mac brother - it's called egg wars! So he and or oldest have been playing. It goes something like this. Each player chooses an egg. The object is to keep your egg from getting cracked. The first player crashes his egg into his opponents egg - then the next person gets a turn. I think you loose when your egg is cracked on both sides (top and bottom) and the other player's egg is uncracked. The winner gets to crack his egg on the looser's head! I know it's crazy - but they have enjoyed it. Seems like Daddy always wins though!
I think we have a new tradition now! Thanks dimples . Mom must add a rule to this game - all eggshells must be cleaned up after the war is over - or I get to crack the head that made the mess !
Welcome, I'm Fru Astrida. I hear you asking now, "Why Fru Astrida?" Well, just let me tell you. With my oldest I am reading The Little Duke, a story about Richard the Fearless. It was common practice then for "young princes to be put under the care of some trusty vassal, instead of being brought up at home." Fru Astrida and her family were chosen because they could speak the Old Norweigan tounge which many had forgotten. In church one Sunday I realized that like Fru Astrida I too have been charged with bringing up 3 of THE KING's children! Wow what a responsibility! I feel so blessed to be able to raise these 3 precious ones. So that is why I am Fru Astrida and this blog is titled what it is.
This blog will hopefully serve to document some of the invaluable memories we are creating, keep family members connected to our lives, and just clear my mind of some of the mindless clutter that can often collect there. <big grin>
