New Look for Fall

Summer is over!!!! Where does the time go?  What have we been doing?  Why  haven't I been writing to tell you about it?  Well, I guess I've just been busy and haven't made time to update so here is a quick overview of the last few months.  After camps were over this summer we went on our family vacation to Myrtle Beach Christian Retreat . They are such a blessing by allowing full time minister's to stay on their off season free of charge!  We played in the tide pools at the beach, went to Ripley's Aquarium, fed the fish and birds at barefoot landing, played at the beach some more, cooked on an electric skillet in the room (great memories), caught lizards, and had a great time playing together as a family.  We brought home a pet hermit crab and are enjoying seeing him swap back and forth between shells.  We are reading Pagoo this term and it is about a hermit crab.  Anyway, the beach was fun.  We enjoyed finding things on the beach and our best find was a crab that had just molted and still had a soft shell.  We found his old one nearby and were able to see how much bigger he got.  We tried to catch little fish, found shells, and I even found a shark's tooth!  Our little princess enjoyed floating on her back in the tide pools, and I even joined in with her... until I got dizzy from all that ocean water in my ears LOL.  It was great fun.

When we got home it was time to start a new year of school!  This year holds a very busy schedule for us to work around.  Tues. is homeschool swim team from 10:00 - 11:30  and then the littlest Duke is on Buster Bus from 12:45-2:30; Wed. is violin at 11:00; Thurs is Buster Bus again 12:45-2:30.  Once a month is Science Center Class.  The schedule has seemed even more hectic because all 3 children have had cleanings, and fillings at the pediatric dentist.  We've been to the dentist 6 times in the last few months and still have more appointments scheduled!  I'm buying her a new car I think .

Well, I can't catch you up entirely in one post.  I guess that's enough for now.  Hopefully I'll get back on to tell you more later.  Until then.............

About Me

Welcome, I'm Fru Astrida. I hear you asking now, "Why Fru Astrida?" Well, just let me tell you. With my oldest I am reading The Little Duke, a story about Richard the Fearless. It was common practice then for "young princes to be put under the care of some trusty vassal, instead of being brought up at home." Fru Astrida and her family were chosen because they could speak the Old Norweigan tounge which many had forgotten. In church one Sunday I realized that like Fru Astrida I too have been charged with bringing up 3 of THE KING's children! Wow what a responsibility! I feel so blessed to be able to raise these 3 precious ones. So that is why I am Fru Astrida and this blog is titled what it is. This blog will hopefully serve to document some of the invaluable memories we are creating, keep family members connected to our lives, and just clear my mind of some of the mindless clutter that can often collect there. <big grin>
