I've been tagged by MOMflippedisWOW to list 7 random things about myself and then tag 7 other people.
1. I'm an only child, but I have 6 children (go figure).
2. I'm very insecure about my birthmark and weight gain (after six children)
3. I'd love to own a RV.
4. I don't really like animals for pets (I'm scared and have allergies, but I'm willing to get a pet or 2 because my children love them).
5. I love being a Christian and serving God, but after lots of disappointments from the church (the body), I'm about 5 minutes for worshipping from my house.
6. I love Soul Food!!
7. I love hot weather and everything that goes along with it, but I live in a place that has 3-4 inches of fresh, falling snow right now with more to come before morning!
My goodness! I've been tagged three times in one week! I can't keep up! LOL Give me a couple days and I'll think of some random things to share. I'm glad you're back blogging. I'll stop in some more. I like the study of John too....my favorite gospel. =]
I love soul food. We had meatloaf, green beans, and mashed potatoes last night. Oh, it felt so good on the stomach on a snowy day.
I liked reading your post. It was interesting to find that you were an only child. I think riding around the country in an RV does sound like fun. I hope you come to visit me some time.
I love what you posted! I think it's really neat that you went from an only child to a mother of six! Obviously, you love being a mom. As for owning an RV and not so sure about pets, that actually works well together. When we traveled, we took our two cats and one got out the night before we left and we were scared she wouldn't be able to find us. Luckily, she was back by the morning and made it all the way home. Nowadays, we need to have someone come in to tend Grandma and our menagerie of pets even to take a short trip. Much easier to travel sans pet ownership.
Thanks for playing and sharing!
Peace and Laughter,
Vicki
I am with ya on #6.I like soul food too! Jambalaya, Red Beans and rice, mustard greens or collards don't make a difference to me because we add the ham seasoning, ham shank and a little smoked sausage to it oh and I can't forget the cornbread! MMM. Makes me hungry just thinking about it.
Have a blessed week.
Stacy
Ok, your #5 hits home with lots of folks I think....I'm reading this awesome book called The Shack, by William Young.
It's totally a clarification of God, as much as one could hope for being a human and not being directly from the Bible....but it's an incredible read...anyway...a passage in it...Jesus (fictionalized) is talking about the church. He says (again, not in the Bible, persay, but the PREMISE) , "..you're only seeing the institution, the man-made system. That's not what I came to build. What I see are people and their lives, a living breathing community of all those who love me, not buildings and programs.....It's all about relationships and simply sharing life...My church is all about people and life is all about relationships"
Very profound. I strongly believe in house church, and simple gatherings of like-minded folks, worshipping our Heavenly Father. Maybe a new opportunity awaits you?!?!
I hear ya on that #5. Hubby and I have read quite a few books on this...I recommend Revolution by George Barna. Also, check out Organic Church by Neil Cole.
And the 'baby weight,' well, don't get me started....
