Well, I have taken the plunge. We have a cat!!!!!!! This is a BIG step for me. I have never had a pet before. Actually, I'm scared of all "petlike creatures" (even our cat)! She is sweet and not a bother, but she jumps on things every once and awhile (go figure). Well, Daisy, that's her name, was given to us through Freecycle . Daisy is a beautiful orange, tabby cat. She is between four and six years old. She came from a household of 2 people and moved into a household of 8, so you can imagine that she hides most of the day!!!!!!!
Her previous owners had to part with her because their granddaughter was severely allergic. I like the idea of having a pet, but I must admit that I'm a little nervous. In the morning, when it is time to feed her (after my husband is gone to work), I wake my daughter up because I really don't want to be alone with the cat or have her climb/jump on me. If my daughter is awake, she'll play with her. Oh, the things we'll do for our children. My children and my husband love her. I think she's great too. I just have to shake the firts pet jitters.
I'm behind on posting the study of John. We've been going through a lot emotionally with the church, so... That being said, if you live in the Chicagoland area and are pleased with your church and it has sound biblical teaching, please forward the name or website! I will be posting about John Chapter 4 tomorrow!
wTHanks for stopping by and letting me know you're back. Sounds like you've had a LOT going on.
Ahh, cats. We've had cats for about 17 years, and they have always been outside cats until the last year and a half. That has taken me a while to get used to. It was kind of funny, because just as I was reading about you wondering why they like to jump on things, one jumped in my lap and climbed up in front of the computer screen. Then he sat in my lap and tried to knaw on my knuckles while I typed! LOL. Jumping on top of things is what cats do! I hope you get used to her soon.
Good for you in rededicating yourself to deep Bible study and looking for an encounter with God. That encounter has recently happened to me, and it is so great. Keep digging, keep looking for how God wants you to purify your life~~He'll be faithful.
One of my other blog friends, mommyof3girlies, also lives in Chicago. You might talk to her about her church.
Angela, hey! I wanted to thank you for stopping by my blog and your comments. :) As for planning my units...there is no rhyme or reason to them. Sometimes I use a FIAR title, sometimes not. I usually do a search for theme ideas for crafts, lessons, etc. I check out books from the library on that topic and then see which ones are the best. I am a planner by nature, so I enjoy the planning and researching to find the perfect craft or activity to go along with a book. :) Let me know if you have more questions...sometimes I forget to come back and answer them!!
I still have not given into pleas for a cat! When I do I think it will be for the "experience" of my kids helping another creature. I hope it goes well for you.

We love pets in our home! Cats are fun, but dogs....now there's some fun! :) Have fun!
I do know of several churches in the Chicago area (I was born and raised there) -- have you heard of the Sovereign Grace churches (http://www.sovereigngraceministries.org/)? There is one in Oswego (just past Naperville) that is full of families -- we visited there one morning and were very blessed by their solid teaching and family friendly attitude (http://www.sgclife.org). We are a part of the Vineyard churches and there are several in Chicago, but I can't speak to any specific one as we haven't been to them yet (http://www.vineyardusa.org). Praying for your search!
My kids would love to go to AG place, they would be in heaven...ok I would be too! Thanks for the comment...by the way we have a puppy named Daisy...very good name!
