Aug. 26, 2008 - Vacation
In the week of August 31st to the 6th, I will not be able to post on my blog. The simple reason for this is that me and my family are going to live in a log cabin for a week, which some of you may call "vacation". This vacation seems like it will be fun, especially since it is in Europe. It is the first vacation that we have gone on living here, even though we've already been to three different countries: France, Belgium, and Germany , of course. The France and Belgium trips could not be called vacations simply because neither of them were even anything more than shopping trips. In France, we went to a French version of Wal-Mart, which only proved my point that America is better than France (no offense). And the Belgium trip was a flea market adventure, where my parents bought nothing. Germany, however, is neither a vacation nor a shopping trip. It is home. But, the vacation we are going on is in Germany, so now this country can also be called "vacation".
Anyway, yesterday my brother, mother, and I watched the movie Stranger Than Fiction. It starred Will Ferrel, and four other actors, all whose names escape me except for Queen Latifa. And Dustin Hoffman. I liked this movie, but I will not give away the ending for those of you who have not seen it. It did give me the feeling, though, that I do not want anyone writing a tragedy about me (you'll understand when you see it).
I also finished reading The Metamorphasis by Franz Kafka, which I found a very depressing book.
Family Force Five came out with a new CD! Check it out. It's called Dance or Die.
And for my final words of the evening, and you can quote me on this...
"The best things about homeschooling are late mornings, late nights, school years ending before the public school, and anytime vacations".
