Mar. 25, 2008 - Contest
JenIg is having a contest.
Rosetta Stone has been the #1 foreign language curriculum among homeschoolers for a while -- next week they are unleashing a brand new curriculum, and you can WIN the *all new* Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3… FOR FREE!
This is a $219 program (and believe me it's worth every penny!) and the winner gets to pick from any of these 14 languages: Spanish (Spain or Latin America), English (American or British), Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Irish, Hebrew, or Russian.
This will also include a headset with microphone, and students will participate in lifelike conversations and actually produce language to advance through the program. Rosetta Stone still incorporates listening, reading and writing as well, in addition to speaking. Many homeschoolers requested grammar and vocabulary exercises, and with Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3, they're included! For parents, the new Parent Administrative Tools are integrated into the program and allow parents to easily enroll students in any of 12 predetermined lesson plans, monitor student progress, and view and print reports.
To win this most excellent program -- in the language of your choice -- copy these (blue) paragraphs and post it in (or as) your next blog post -- then to enter the contest, go to the original contest page HERE: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/JenIG/501132/ and leave a comment with the link showing where you blogged about it. And please make sure the link works to get back to the original contest page when you post it. And good luck! The winner will be picked randomly on March 26, and will be notified thru the link they left to their blog pg. And if you have more than one blog, you can post them and enter those separately for more chances to win. Yay for free stuff!

Apr. 26, 2007 - The Container
Yesterday I had to get up at 7:00 in the morning to leave at 8:30. The container was already there waiting for us. My dad and the driver opened the doors to the container and then I opened the storage. After about a few minutes everyone started to show up. I hoped into the container with about two other of our friends and started to hand out some of our stuff to the men below. We left out some of the stuff to bring back to my grandparents house like Tennis Rackets, Bikes, Movies and my computer that I am now typing on. And right before they started to unload the piano my grandmother drove me home to get ready for work.

Apr. 24, 2007 - First Day at Chick-fil-A
Yesterday, was my first day at Chick-fil-a. Some people on my blog want to know what Chick-fil-A is. I had a good time there; my first assignment was the cash register. I picked that up pretty quick. And I also did a few other things as well. The people I work with are AWESOME! Their nice funny and they act as if they where your brother or sister. All day I had to do math (that I had no problem with) and stand up strait. When I got home my back was killing me. Over all Chick-fil-A is a great place.

Apr. 21, 2007 - Gabe
Yesterday I got my Chick-fil-A outfit and it also came with a name tag. The owner asked me what everyone usually calls me. I was going to say Gabriel because I love the name. But then again if people where going to call me by my name it would be easy to just glance at the tag and read Gabe. Instead of them trying to read at your tag and you wondering why they were looking at you so funny.

Apr. 20, 2007 - I Got A Job
About a week ago I went to an interview for Chick-fil-A. When it was finished the owner said, "We'll give you a shot." Today I went there and did some paper work and I had to watch a video of what to do and how they want you to behave. Chick-fil-A is a great place to work. It is a Christian business that has great employees to work with. The video also had the origins of Chick-fil-A and S. Truett Cathy. If you are ever going to start your first job before college or during then work at Chick-fil-A. Right now I am trying to earn money for a cell phone and then possibly a car. Also they are closed on Sunday!

PS Please pray for me when I go to work, thank you.

Apr. 19, 2007 - Comics
Quote of the Day
Dwight D. Eisenhower- "If a problem cannot be solved, enlarge it."
Have you ever wanted to make a comic book of your own? You sit down at your desk not knowing what your superhero will be like, his name and his hero name. Or his powers and story of how he got them. And also trying to think of all the many villains. I my self am wanting to make a small comic book of my own, because I love to make stories and I can draw too. If you have any ideas of what you think would be cool for my story, please tell. Ideas like the hero's name, powers, villains any thing. I also think that I'll make my hero have the past of being a homeschooler.

Apr. 18, 2007 - Sorry
WW2 Quote of the Day
Winston Churchill- "Battles are won by slaughter and maneuver. The greater the general, the more he contributes in maneuver, the less he demands in slaughter."
Sorry that I have not been able to blog for some time. I have been doing all kinds of things lately. Mainly I have been trying to catch up with a lot of school. My dad and I are also pulling out a lot of our stuff from my grandparents' attic, and been taking it to a storage place. And so when our container arrives we will also have a place to store it all until we find a house.

PS Please be praying for us to find a nice house.

Apr. 11, 2007 - LOST
WW2 Quote of the Day
Joseph Stalin- Death is the solution to all problems. No man - no problem.
I never really got to the point where I told you that my family and I love the series LOST. In Romania I watch the first two episodes of the first season. Hours later I got my dad and my sister Hannah hooked on it. About a year later Hannah did the impossible. You want to know what it was? She got my mom hooked on it and shes crazy about LOST. And my little 9 year old sister likes to watch it also. The 3rd season is real cool, I still liked the 1st one better because it was the LOST that got me hooked. My 3 favorite characters in order is Sawyer, Kate and Hugo. Then it would be Jack, Locke and so on. The last episode was really good. Right now we are just waiting for tonight.

Apr. 9, 2007 - Easter Sunday
WW2 Quote of the Day
Winston Churchill- "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few."
Yesterday, Easter Sunday, was also my sister Holly's Birthday. I got her an organizer thing with drawers for her desk that she has been asking for and I also got her a Wal-Mart gift card. She turned 9 and is happier than ever. Easter was also real fun. We went to my grandparents' house and ate a great ham dinner. In the morning we went to my uncle's church and he made an easter bunny video. It was funny, it's about how the easter bunny is taking away the meaning of easter, when we all know that it's all for Jesus. My Uncle and his friend are testing out if the easter bunny can do most of the things that Jesus did on earth. Real funny. I'll put it on the blog later.

Apr. 7, 2007 - Spider-Man 3 the Book
WW2 Quote of the Day
Winston Churchill- “All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.”
Yesterday my dad wanted Chinese for dinner. And I asked if we could go to Books-a-Million while the Chinese Restaurant was making the food. My dad and I got into the car and he let my drive again. We stopped by the restaurant and ordered, then we walk to Books-a-Million, because it's in walking distance (personally almost anything where is walking distance to my dad and I, because we walked every where
PS We drove a car when we needed to or wanted to.

Apr. 6, 2007 - Art Class
WW2 Quote of the Day
Franklin D. Roosevelt - "If you treat people right they will treat you right - ninety percent of the time."
Yesterday I went back to art classes and my little sister Holly joined along too. The last time, I drew George Washington and George W Bush. This time I am starting with Abraham Lincoln. I needed a little review first but then I started to pickup on it again. I have to go back next week to finish it. Holly drew a Raggedy Anne doll.
