Ipods and Christmas Music
Posted on Nov. 16, 2006 at 6:21 AM in Rambling Thoughts
Well
we went and did it! We
broke
out
the
Christmas
music! I just could not wait! We have several cds but I only downloaded three
to the ipod. Point of Grace, Gaither Christmas Homecoming and Phillips, Craig
& Dean. I think my oldest wanted to disown me for a while as I kept
forwarding all the ones I do not love and playing my favorites over and over.
We used to have a five cd player that sat on our kitchen
counter but it half died with five cds in it. I had to take it apart to get
them out. This summer we got an ipod. I really love that it is like a modern
jukebox. We bought a Bose speaker made specifically for an ipod that has a
lovely far-reaching sound. We set it up on a tall bookcase in the corner of our
dining room/kitchen and it seems to reach most of the house (we have a single
level home). I downloaded many of our cds onto the ipod and created several
different play lists. My newest, of course, is called Christmas!
Not only do we download music but audio books (Cat of the
Bubastes) and fun things like Down
Gilead Lane and Jungle Jam. I even started downloading my
daughters science book on cd (I need to finish that!) so she can listen while
doing dishes. We have two different versions of the new testament on cd and
they are on the list to be downloaded too! What a great invention!! :)
* Updated since I wrote this post in Word a few days ago and
forgot to put in on my blog we now have 11 Christmas cds downloaded to the
ipod! :)

That is my favorite part of the Christmas season...the music!
I, however, have only been listening to one Christmas cd and only one. I'm trying to learn the music for the children's Christmas play by osmosis or something. LOL
Ephesians 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hmns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
I am trying so hard....
to wait until after Thanksgiving because I want to really celebrate Thanksgiving and the blessings the Lord has bestowed...
And I need to get a new CD player anyway because mine died:(

Hi Rachelle,
Thanks for visiting and commenting on my "new" look. I'm not done, but have paused for the moment to catch up with other things. I love your ipod idea. I have a fancy cell phone that can be loaded up with all kinds of music and such, but I haven't taken time to figure out how all that music download stuff works. You sound like you are pretty computer savvy (I'm not bad, just haven't taken the time to learn). I laughed at your previous post about having photo frames with the original photo advertisements in them. Sounds like something I would have on my wall. I always have my head in a million different things and many times things don't get done.
Have a Great Day!
Heidi

So far I have been able to hold off but it sure is hard when you see Christmas stuff everywhere you turn. We are going to try to wait until after Thanksgiving. Usually that next day, we play music all day long. The music is one of my favorites parts of Christmas. I just love it. Now, if I could only get through half the songs without getting choked up and crying.
You are much braver than me to work with an iPod. I only just recently learned what they are and thought they sounded too complicated. You make it sound so easy. Maybe I'll have to investigate further.
