One year of no sweets, treats or desserts ...
Posted on Oct. 15, 2005 at 3:44 PM in Rambling Thoughts
Today is an amazing day for me. Today I celebrate one year without treats or desserts. For the last 365 days I have not had any: cake, candy, cookies, ice cream, pie, any other treat/dessert and the biggie
no chocolate. I have not added any sugar (white, brown, Rapadura, Sucanat, raw, ect
), molasses, honey, stevia, fructose or any kind of fake sweetener as a topping on the things I have eaten. For the first eight months I did not have any maple syrup. I have eaten a little maple syrup in my plain unsweetened yogurt in months 9, 10, 11 and 12.
I am absolutely amazed that this has happened and it has been relatively painless. How did this happen? Last October 14th my sweet hubby laid hands on me and prayed for me about my terrible addition to sweets, especially chocolate. I woke up on the 15th and have not had any of the above, except the maple syrup in months 9-12, since. I can hardly believe it has been a year!!

First off, that is fantastic about the sugar!! Maybe your hubby can come over and pray over me? I am not an addict, but I like food. I have about 45 pounds to lose. :::sigh:::
On a better note, we have a beagle puppy also.!! He was 10 weeks old yesterday. We got him from the breeder at 7 weeks. He is soo much fun. We are all enjoying him.. The only thing that gets to my 6 year old, is that Reilly keeps wanting to take his socks away. While Samuel is still wearing them, No one else's, just Samuel. It is the funniest thing. Reilly also has a few accidents in the house, but thankfully we have hard wood floors. No carpets. Its not as bad as I thought it would be. Hope you enjoy your Amos!! Keep us posted! ~ madeleine

I find it hilarious that Reilly's favorite toys are his stuffed animals for dogs. He grabs them in his mouth and walks around the house, even though they are way bigger them he is. What are Amos' favorites? ~ madeleine

Amos has a stuffed porcupine that he really enjoys, he cuddles up with it and some old kitchen towels to sleep. :) He likes his new red ball but it seems that his favorite thing right now is ... half dry lemon leaves that have fallen off the tree! He loves to carry them around and try to eat them. It is so cute when he sneaks up on something and then pounces on it. He is really learning to whine and "talk". We can really see that Charles M. Schulz based Snoopy's vocalizations on real beagles!! :)

Wow -- Praise the Lord. We can do all things through Christ! Some times people don't want to admit they have a problem. Good to see you are living in reality... and putting God first! YEAH!
