And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9

A Confession ...
Posted on Nov. 9, 2005 at 9:40 PM in Rambling Thoughts
I have a confession to make
there is an area of being a homemaker that I fail miserably in. I am thinking and hoping that if I publicly confess to this horrible failure and post a plan to try and improve
maybe I will be too embarrassed to not work on this problem! I have been married for over 17 years and I can hardly believe I still struggle in this area! The area is:
planning, preparing and actually getting meals on the table. We eat take out faaaar too often. I will not confess how often!
Whew! There it is, my confession. I do not feel better but I am hopeful that my desire to eventually post a positive update will push me into action!
Or ... I just may have to delete this entry!!!!!

i'm great at the planning stage, but it's the remembering to defrost stage that gets me usually...that's when we revert to grilled cheese and toamto soup ;-)
ps...i like your new look!

Oh NO! Don't delete this! We'll encourage each other!!! I had been doing quite well for a while (weeks,I am talking, not months or years!), and as soon as I am stressed I revert back to old habits.
As iron sharpens iron we can be for one another!!!
Mee tooo!

I don't know how to cook much and when I try new things, they don't taste
that great. I've been married almost ten years and struggle to be a good
example of homemaker in the kitchen too. The past few months I have prayed for help and God has given me a new attitude. Don't give up. Keep cooking and tweaking recipes. That is what He said. So, I've been doing some EASY crock pot stuff. I made my first stew last night and it was...bland but edible. Next time I make it, I'll add more seasoning. Keep on trying. Read recipe books, call on friends and/or family to help mentor/teach you dishes, pray for guidance and so on. Confessing is a good thing. I've really had to work on this area too. For me it was just that I gave up for a long time. Like if I couldn't cook perfect, then why cook at all? Not a right heart attitude and it really hindered me. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad someone else has this area to work on too. Most ladies I know that HS really are great cooks. Satan would love us compare ourselves to other and be so deflated that we would not even try to improve!! SOrry to be word. God bless.
