The Man and the Serpent

A Countryman's son by accident trod upon a Serpent's tail, which turned and bit him so that he died. The father in a rage got his axe, and pursuing the Serpent, cut off part of its tail. So the Serpent in revenge began stinging several of the Farmer's cattle and caused him severe loss. Well, the Farmer thought it best to make it up with the Serpent, and brought food and honey to the mouth of its lair, and said to it: "Let's forget and forgive; perhaps you were right to punish my son, and take vengeance on my cattle, but surely I was right in trying to revenge him; now that we are both satisfied why should not we be friends again?"

"No, no," said the Serpent; "take away your gifts; you can never forget the death of your son, nor I the loss of my tail."

Injuries may be forgiven, but not forgotten.

Flour.... Molasses.... Eggs....Ginger.....

Today we made gingerbread cookies. In the past we have always made our gingerbread men look like the traditional type:

The Gingerbread Boy Outran the Baker... But He Didn't Outrun Me!

 But with the exception of this Venerable Gentleman, and select Friends, this year we were far more creative. Thus, Kevin from Home Alone:

AHHHHHHHGGGGG! (Shaving cream is painful for eight-year-old boys)

And the snorkler:

Float, Float, Float Your Tube......

A guy listening to an iPod

Listen to Tunes on your Candy Apple uPod Scuffle

This one got a little messed up when I tried to put him on the cookie sheet, and he looks like he may have been run over by a tractor or a bike or something.

Oops.. sorry, dude..

These ones could either be high-fiving or dancing.

Come on, cookie, twist and shout (Twist and shout) come on come on come on, Cookie...

This is what you do if you accidently amputate a limb while moving from cookie cutter to cookie sheet: make it look like it was on purpose.

Mr. Cobbler, can I purchase a single shoe?

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this deviation from the normal kind of entries I post here, which tend to have a bit more substance to them. I tried to find some sort of Biblical lesson that can be gathered from decorating cookies, but unfortuanately gingerbread was not invented until after 100 AD. So I will leave you with a small anecdote: Use your God-given creativity for God's glory! Decorate your cookies, and spread joy by giving them to a neighbor, a friend, or someone that needs a bit of Christmas cheer.

  Be self-controled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.                 1Peter 5:8-9

  Ok so right now I'm not really doing much so I can finially make a post. December is a really busy month.

  The van ended up not needing the breaks changed. We took off both front tires and found that neither side needed a change. But the van is still squeaking when it stops after it warms up a bit... still thinking about that. But the good thing is that it passed inspection. God was definetly with us because there is NO WAY that it should have passed. The car fan did end up working strangley. It was really wierd. My dad drove to work after we tried to fix it and it started working again. It sounds really bad because it's out of balance but hey, at least it works.

  Sarah is still going to physical therapy for an hour and they think that she actually broke more bones than the doctors x-rayed. So she goes back in tomarrow to get it x-rayed. Hopefuly everything will be ok but it's really been causing her some pain.

  Right now I am cleaning my room. I got my parents old full size bed so they could get another one. We put it in yesterday and now my room is even more of a mess than it was before we moved it in. *sighs* I don't particulary like cleaning my room. But I guess that it has to be done every now and then.

  God Bless,

Review: Jyu Oh Sei

Review: Jyu Oh Sei

English Title: Planet of the Beast King

Synonyms: Juuousei, Jyu-Oh-Sei

Type: TV Series

Episodes: 11

Status: Finished Airing

Aired: Apr 14, 2006 to Jun 23, 2006

Producers: BONES, FUNimation Entertainment

Genres: Action, Adventure, Mystery, Drama, Sci-Fi

Duration: 22 min. per episode

Rating: PG-13 - Teens 13 or older

Story: 9/10

Thor Klein and his twin brother Rai are abandoned on an extremely dangerous planet where plants are carnivorous and only the strong survive. Their parents were killed and Thor struggles to understand how or why they got there in the first place, and is determined to leave no matter the cost. He discovers that the only way to leave the planet is to beat all the strongest warriors and become The Beast King, and is forced into considering whether or not his brother is a liability to him as he is naturally a strong person and his brother Rai is fragile.

The story is really Lord of the Flies without all the weird worshiping, just taking the jungle and strongest of the fittest elements to it. It goes through Thor’s life, jumping from adolescent to young adult. I was very enthusiastic about this Anime as the over all feel to it was very drawing and the story-line was great. They surprised me in a lot of respects, especially for a shorter series. The plot-line had a number of different people within it but always focused on Thor and his objective, throwing in a lot of little twists along the way. The story was near perfect really, and brilliantly delivered.

Animation: 10/10

BONES have outdone their selves once again, the animation was beautiful!Music: 9/10

The music is extremely catchy, and very ominous on every scene and that opening theme is one of the best I’ve heard!

Voice Acting: (Dub) 9/10

This was an excellent Dub, I was impressed with both Alison Viktorin’s and Sean Teague’s performances as Thor, they played off each other excellently, great for both his childhood version and his older version. Alison Viktorin also played the part of Thor’s twin brother very well, made them both completely different, the way they should have been. And Sean Teague was absolutely perfect for older Thor, gave him the humanity and the strength in his voice he needed. Trina Nishimura was a great Tiz, and Duncan Brannan did wonderfully as Third. The extras were also all well voiced, which was a shock, I did not expect it to be treated so well.

Characters: 8/10

Great main cast, everyone was very likable. The only thing is some of the extras were only there to move the plot along, but I can’t degrade them for that as they had too many characters and too little time. The main cast was very well developed though.

Over-All: 9/10 (Great)

Loved every moment of it! I only wish it was longer because it had the potential to be twice the length it had, but they did not waste any time because of that. Great Anime!

Rating Accuracy/Things to Watch Out For: (For Christian Parents)

(Rating: PG 13,) Rating is accurate, blood and violence.

An adult subject is noted.

Childbearing is mentioned, A LOT.

Nude men, but you can’t see anything.

Two or three make out scenes, one being more suggestive, but nothing bad happens beyond kissing.

I'm alive... still. :)

Hey!  It's been a while.  I'm not allowed to talk about the things I would LOVE to talk about, so I'll talk about other things.  Happy things like friends, music, food, etc.  That's happy stuff, right?  I think so.  I'm not going to say anything more about our friends, other than that they are awesome people, because I'm not sure how much I can say.  Music... I like music.  I play guitar (as I think you know already, but for some reason I feel like re-introducing myself), and I play keyboard by ear.  I figured out the Pride and Prejudice song.  Think about it and I'm sure you'll figure out which one.  :)  I can play all of Mozart's Turkish March.  Yes, it's fast.  Yes, I can play it as fast as it is supposed to be played.  Look it up somewhere and listen to it.  It's pretty cool.  I can also play Scarborough Fair ambidextrously.  Ambidextrous is Latin and means "as if having two right hands" or something like that.

Speaking of Latin....  Have you seen The Matrix?  Well, if you have, you'll know what I'm talking about, if you haven't, you probably won't and you'll either have to deal with it, look it up, or watch the movie.  It's been on AMC a couple times, so maybe you could look up when it'll be on.  Anyhow, I was wondering what the word matrix meant.  My dictionary says: "That within which something originates or develops."  Yeah..... that'll give ya something to gnaw on for a while.  So I decided to look it up in the Microsoft Word Processor dictionary.  It said something else.  It said:  "[14th century. Directly or via French matrice from Latin matrix “womb” (the original sense in English ), later “list,” from, ultimately, mater “mother.” The underlying idea is of something growing.]"  Ahhhhh..... It makes perfect sense now.  The Latin word Mater (Mah-tayr) means mother.  Mater, Matrix.... see?  I did learn that in school, I just didn't think.  If you had told me that I knew, I could have figured it out without looking it up.  Where were you when I needed you?!  Just kidding.  :)

Anyway, cooking, food, whatever.  I like cooking.  I used to HATE cooking.  It's so much more fun when you can experiment without getting yelled at.  As far as eating goes...  I love Indian food.  In Springfield there's a resturant called Gem of India and they have the BEST food I have ever tasted.  My favorite dish from there is Chicken Tikka Masala.  There's only one recipe on allrecipes.com and it is wonderful.  Chicken Tikka Masala over Basmati rice, oh yeah.....  I could eat a whole plate of that stuff.  Two whole plates of that stuff.

Well, sorry about that long, random post.  Someone threw off my blogging groove.

I'll be back.  I shall return.  Or so I hope.  :)

Adieu. Adios. Au revoir. Ciao. Cheerio. Shalom. Bye. :)

The Truth Behind The Lies

Good Evening,everyone! ^_^ And how are you this fine night? Have you all had a wonderful weekend? I hope so. Well,only 3 more days til Christmas! How fun! Things are pretty chaotic here,for everyone is going all over the place since it's only a limited time,ya know. =) Well,the X Creatures have been absolutely awesome. They all have been behaving well and I am glad that they are finally safe. *Whew* Anyhoot,I guess I should get right onto the story. Heh-Heh!

"I can't believe my eyes!" Frodo told everyone,as he stared at the TV. It was News time and it pretty much was about a bunch of garbage...cause we were being accused of something rediculous; "Sarah Cambell and her Character fiends have brought the End to Earth"!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes either! How could they possibly think that just because The Characters were here means that the end of the world has started. I rolled my eyes and clicked the TV off. I didn't want them to be fed with a bunch of garbage. I sighed and sat the remote down. "Sarah,are we really the ones who brought the end?" I heard Fidgit say. I swun around. "OF COURSE NOT!! Those idiots have no idea about what they're talkin' about! They're clueless! Listen,whenever something bad happens to my world,they always need to point their finger at someone. It's no biggie. They're just jerks. Don't pay any attention to them." "But,Sarah,they may be right!" Spidergirl urged. "We have been--" "It's OK." I interrupted. She frowned and rubbed her arms. I smiled. "You guys are my friends. And I'm 100% sure that you are the best Characters ever created by anyone." They all frowned and stared at me,a bit shocked that I felt that way. I grinned and folded my arms. "Do I lie?"  Genesis smirked. "No..guess you don't."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After we watched a few movies and ate dinner,I got out our boxes of old investigations and missions. For hours,we cruised along the file shore,as we looked back at all the times we had spent together. I am truely alot more happy that The Characters had arrived,I made friends and could see my family. The Characters really did bring my family close to me. They sure are a blessing from God. =)  But as we looked back at one of the files,the screeching silence entered the room,our laughters dying off and our smiles disappearing.  Emma slowly took the file and frowned. "'Serpent and His Villains'..." She said aloud.  I sighed and shuffled through random files. And then,it hit me. "Ya know.." I said,staring at the ground. "I don't think Falcon eliminated Serpent and his minions." Sarah raised an eyebrow. "Then who did?" I slowly turned my head at The X Creatures. And then,without a doubt,I had the answer loud and clear. "They did...to protect me." Everyone looked over at them,then at me. "Are you sure,Sarah?" Aslan asked. I nodded. "Yep. I'm sure." I then gasped and sprung up. "Wait a minute!! The X Creatures..they were protecting me by doing that. So..oh,my gosh! I was right all along!!" "How?" Tarzan questioned. I looked at them all. "Spencer and his Brothers! They're really EVIL!!"
Strange how when one answer is revealed that hundreds start to accure,isn't it? ^_^
Hmm...
Because of the many comments of you who want to do the three-person story idea,I have lost my sanity. O_O It's very hard to decide whom I pick. I have had answers from BeeBuddy,RuthRose,HersheyLover and SeaChel. So,as you can see,my brain is frazzled. O_O And I was thinking of doing a fictional story.  All three of us will have our seperate blogs on one account (Which is three blogs) and we tell the same story through our point of view. Just a thought,you don't have to go with it if you don't want to. Just maybe we can each of partners in our stories and take turns with our parts. You guys can find someone you know who makes templates,but I'll be making my own. =) Anyway,please get back to me on this. I'll really appreciate an answer. ^_^
