You know you’re obsessed with the Ranger’s Apprentice series when......
(1 You’ve read every book you can get your hands on
(2 You fume every time you think about the fact that Australians get the books years before anyone else.
(3 You pre-ordered The Siege of Mackinaw before it even came out.
(4 You spend all your money on Ranger’s Apprentice books and have none left for (Name something you wanted really badly), but you still wouldn’t change it.
(5 You’ve spent hours trying to see if you can walk as quietly as Will and Halt.
(6 You’ve e-mailed John Flanagan
(7 You have a map of Araluen on your wall
(8 You can’t understand why they don’t just hurry up and make the movie
(9 If they mess the movie up you are planning on sending hate mail to the producers
(10 You agree that coffee is better with honey in it
(11 You ordered the 7th and 8th books from an Australian bookseller just so you could find out what happens, even though the price of shipping was outrageous.
(12 Every time you read another good sneaking tip, you file it away in your head for future use.
(13 You are planning on naming your kids Will, Horace, Halt, Evalynn and Alyss
(14 You made yourself a Ranger cloak
(15 You tried out archery and knife throwing because of reading the books
(16 You know exactly what the characters look like
(17 You would kill for the chance to be in the movie
(18 You made yourself an Oakleaf necklace
(19 You find yourself nodding your head as you read this
(20 You wouldn’t have to think twice if you were offered the chance to become a Ranger
(21 You hope John Flanagan writes the full lyrics to ‘Graybeard Halt’ in a future book
(22 If John ever stops writing the books you will slap yourself unconscious
(23 You will punch anyone who says that the Ranger’s apprentice books stink
(24 You have Rangers Apprentice wallpaper on your computer
(25 You have all the Rangers Apprentice websites saved in your favorites
(26 You’ve made yourself a bow
(27 You’re off in Araluen fighting Wargals with Will when you should be doing your homework
(28 You’ve been under the covers with a flashlight reading Rangers Apprentice when you should be sleeping
(29 You’ve gotten in trouble with your parents for no. 29
(30 Your e-mail address has something to do with the Rangers Apprentice books
People want to be happy, isn't that right? Haven't you heard it all your life? I want to be happy, people say. Well, aren't they? Don't we keep them moving, don't we give them fun? That's all we live for, isn't it? For pleasure, for titillation? And you must admit our culture provides plenty of these.
How's it going? Nothing much is going on here, just the usual. We are trying out a new church, the last one was kinda.....cuckoo. The Sr. pastor was pretty good, but the Sunday-school teachers, youth pastor, and assistant pastor were all kinda off the wall. I went to youth group, and it was pretty cool, we had a scavenger hunt, which was really fun. I'm beginning to get a reputation as 'the brainiac homeschool nerd who wears her baseball cap backwards'. (One of the teachers here is kinda confusing, and I usually end up either asking for clarification, or correcting him, which is kind of embarrassing, but I think bible teaching is just to important to let stuff like that slip by.)
Anyway, last night he mistakenly said that 'money is the root of all evil' and I raised my hand and said "Actually, the LOVE of money is the root of all evil." every eyeball in the room swiveled to look in my direction. Lol.
Also, NOBODY WILL SING (in the youth group). Unfortunately, we sang, 'Shout to the Lord', and I have a very high singing voice. So everybody else mumbled through the song, while I shrieked my way through. Every head turned to look in my direction at least twice. Oh well. At least they were discreet about staring at me.
How was your 4th of July, Americans? We had some friends up from FL and some other friends who live around here, so we had a total of 9 kids running around like maniacs, screaming at the top of their lungs. We had Go-Kart races, which was awesome! Then we went swimming and ate watermelon, and than came dinner. After dinner, while waiting for it to get dark, we argued about who would be on which team for War for about fifteen minutes. Once we finally got that figured out, a light saber's batteries ran out. So after ten minutes of waiting for them to come back from changing the batteries, another kid who previously was not going to play, decided he DID want to play. So we got in a total of 3 minutes (Give or take a few seconds) of playing before it was time for fireworks.
Hey guys, Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I need to go do somthing, but I just wanted to post somthing so you guys would know I'm not dead or somthing.
Comment and tell me if you like my new music player!
Oh, and go check out samoriwarrior (He's in my friends list) That's my friend Danny, he got himself a blog now!
Ladies and Gents, My first batch of homemade bread! (I've been making them for awhile, but this is the first one I did without any help!)
The Teen Night Loonies
Us Again.....
This is a picture I edited for our 4-H scrapbook, It's the leaders in our club. I drew the funny little suits myself!
These are pictures of my Star Wars character costume. (Ashki Wimoc, my Star Wars name.)
Did any of you guys watch the Inauguration this past tuesday? Did it bug anyone beside me what Mr. preacher said about 'the white will embrace what's right', or something like that. As far as I knew, that's what we've been doing for a while now. Like all 'white' people are bad because sometime in our past our ancestors kept slaves. 'Black' people kept slaves too, and they still do as a matter of fact, in Africa. And anyway, we're all the same 'race', some people just have more/less melanin than others. Why do they make such a big deal over it? My thinking is 'Get over it already!' lol. I'm part Irish, and I don't get mad at people because their ancestors made fun of my ancestors when they came to America.
Martin Luther King Jr. said to judge people on the content of their character, not their skin colour. That goes for white people too.
May the Force be With You

P.S. here's a link to the Slideshow I made of the Teen night, which, for those of you who don't know, is my main hangout. Lot's of crazy people there, I fit right in! Lol.
Hey guys! sorry I haven't been on in a loooooooong time, but all of December has been run here, run there, and back again, and than came 4-h stuff, so I'm just now getting a chance to breath! See, my mom and I were singing in our church cantata, and Shorty (Sean) was singing in the kids choir. You would think it would just be singing, but Nooooo, they go planning parties, and field trips, and craft days, and extra practices that we had no idea would happen, and we have ourselves a hectic time. Lol. But all that's over now, so hopefully I'll have more time on my hands.
Anyway, I'm debating with a friend of mine, on another website and they won't let me post links (says it's bad language) so I'm directing her to my blog, where I am posting all the links for evidence that life begins at conception, not a birth, therefore making abortion wrong. "Hi {echo}!" ***Waves*** lol. Check them out for yourselves if you want!
I did post one pro life website, but it has quotes from scientists, and I think that counts because it's what other scientists say, not just the person who wrote the article's opinion on the issue.
I'm supposed to tell six (6) odd things about myself, but I've done so many of them that you guys know lots of stuff about me. To much, you must have your mind wiped! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!
Okay, now that you've had your daily dose of freakyness, lets get down to business, shall we?
1) I act like a cat in public sometimes. (My hiss has gotten very good!)
2) My friends and I (Maggie and 'Manda) put chocolate pudding on our faces and did cartwheels in front of the road, and waved to the cars!
3) Most kids my age get embaressed by their moms, I embaress my mom!
4) I enjoy debating. Unfortunately, Many people despise me for it. **Grins** (I always win! heh heh heh........)
5) I like Calvin and Hobbes
6) I, uh, I am out of things to say! That counts as an answer!
And I stole another tag from her, hehehe. **Sneaky laugh**

(Also, I have read A Proper Pursuit and a Woman's place and loved them!)
Halloween is known today as a night when people of all ages take to the streets, dressed in all manner of costumes, to march from door to door shouting "Trick or treat!" at the appropriate moment.
But what started Halloween?
Is it wrong as Christians to celebrate it?
Or, is it just a harmless holiday?
The ancient, pre-Christian Celtics started this tradition, it was known to them as ‘The festival of the dead’ or Samhain, and they believed that on that particular day, the spirits of the dead would roam the earth, and mingle with the other, living inhabitants. The people made pagan sacrifices, and bon-fires, to the dead, to help and guide them on their way to the ‘after-life’.
Christian missionaries attempted to change the pagan holiday, and to convert many Celtics into Christianity, but instead of obliterating the holiday, they changed it. Nov. 1st, was designated as ‘All Saints day’ honoring all the saints, particularly those who did not have a day all to their own. The Christian missionaries hoped to draw people attention away from Samhain, and eventually, to wipe Samhain out. They never wiped the holiday out completely, as we see today. (Christmas was also celebrated on the 25th of December for this same purpose.) This brings me to All Hallows Eve. "Hallows" means, "Saints",(Also, "Hallowed" means "Holy One" as in, Hallowed be Thy name) "Eve", means, the evening before, like in Christmas eve. So Halloween means, ‘The evening before All Holy Ones day’
The people still celebrated the dead, only now they were thought to be evil. They also continued some of their traditions, including setting out food and drink to appease the spirits. As the centuries went on, people dressed up like these creatures, and performed antics in exchange for food. This is from what trick or treating evolved. They also believed that if they dressed up in a scary or evil looking costume, the spirits would think they were one of them, and leave them alone.
So, if the holiday, as well as many of the traditions celebrated on this day, is based on a pagan celebration, should or shouldn't we, as Christians, partake of the festivities?
The Bible does not say particularly, ‘Thou shalt not celebrate Halloween." so how do we decide what is and isn’t right?
We need to look at the Lord’s other commands, and make our decisions from them. The Bible says, "Whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely or admirable, think and dwell on these things." More and more, we see Halloween turn back toward the pagan holiday of Samhain. It is no longer a time to dress up in the most creative costume, and to celebrate autumn, and the harvest. It has become at time to see who can dress up the goriest, the scariest, it has become a time of gruesome decorations, with ghosts, and headstones. Is death and gore noble? Right? Pure? Certainly it’s not lovely. Why then, do we continue to dwell on it, and to glorify it? Death and pain are not things to be taken lightly. We continue to desensitize ourselves to pain and agony, by watching movies where people are being killed, or maimed. We glorify death, by placing cardboard headstones in our yards. We should be glad that as Christians, we have no fear of the grave, but we should not glorify it!
What then, should we do on Halloween? Should we sit at home all day? I’m not trying to tell you what to do, I’m not saying I’m more "spiritual" than you because I don’t celebrate Halloween. That is your decision, to be made by your parents, or yourself. God does not always have for one family or individual what he has for another. But there are many alternatives to celebrating Halloween.
My family and I celebrate the harvest, and autumn. We dress up, as fun things, not scary or gory. We go Trunk or Treating with our church, or go to festivals celebrating fall. We like to refer to it as, ‘Fall-oween’. Whatever your decision, I would like to wish you a happy Fall!
I’m not trying to point fingers, or condemn you for celebrating Halloween, I’m simply stating my beliefs based on my research into this subject. If you want to comment and tell me what you think about Halloween, I would love it! (As long as it is polite of course ;))\
May the Force be with you

Can you say, 'Tomboy'!!! lol. Seriously, you would wonder if you saw some of the things I do around here!
We start testing on Monday, and after we finish, we usually get to do something fun, like go out for ice cream. This year, we get to go to the movies! (Another crazy fact about me: I've been to the movies thrice. (That means 3 times, in case you didn't know.) For the Narnia movies, and a documentary about Lewis and Clark.) (And while I'm going on about random stuff, when we were on vacation, (Which reminds me, remind me to post pictures!) Me and Lil' Brother number 1 (Sean) (Riley was asleep, it must have been nine o' clock!) played we were Lewis Clark (Me) and Sacajawea (Sean. He wasn't happy about having to play a girl!) And we had to fight water skiing polar bears. It was very interesting. Hey, the imagination is a wonderful thing........Anyway, back to the subject of movies........) We are gonna see Journey to the Center of the Earth! I just finished reading the book, and it was S0 G00D!!!! If the movie is as good as the book was, than that will be one awesome movie!!!
So, now that I have confused your brains, go back and read it again! lol. No, really, you might get something out of it this time, if you read it slow enough! =D
So, anyway, thank you for reading this post which changed from a tag to a confusing bunch of Mumbo-Jumbo.

Hi guys! I'm sooooooooo sorry I haven't posted in a while, not really anything to talk about, lol.
It's HOT! Yesterday at 4 o' clock (pm, lol) it was 99 degrees here!!! And that's not the worst of it. We have to perform a historically accurate play tomorrow. Guess what time period? The 1700s!!! Do you have ANY idea how HOT it is in those costumes!?!?! I have to weir a dress that goes to the floor, long sleeves, a petticoat underneath, and the collar goes halfway up to my neck. Yesterday was the dress rehearsal and someone almost fainted because of those costumes! Can you guess who???? I DID! ME! I ALMOST FAINTED! Yeah, go ahead, laugh about it!!! It was ENBARRESING!!!!!
Other then that exiting piece of news, not much else is going on. Oh wait, we are leaving for vacation Saturday, so that should be exiting. We are going to Pennsylvania. Hershey Park, here we come! I'm looking forward to the water rides there, lol! (This part of the text won't get big!)
Well talk to y'all later, pray that I don't faint on stage tomorrow!
Stay cool and May The Force Be With You!

P.S. Maybe I might start beliveing in Global Warming! (J.K.! lol)
P.S.S. I don't even want to THINK about what it will be like in August!
Apr. 25, 2008 - Here I am Again, I'm Gonna Bore You Some More
Hey guys, what's up? I got some new CDs, dcTalk, Superchick, pureNRG, (They are SO cool!) ZOEgirl, Skillet. When I was little, I could never understand why people would say that one of the things they do for fun was listen to music. How boreing is that? I would think. Now I understand!
Two things I love: Rock/Rap/Hip-hop music, and over-alls!
'Ello again folks! Hows it go'in? Once again, here is a book review!
A Book Review by Ashlynne:
Schooled
by Gordon Korman
This book is about Capricon (Cap) Anderson, a homeschooler who has never seen a TV, eaten a piece of pizza, and other numerous things. (However, he is VERY smart)
He lives miles away from any city, and knows only one person by name: his grandmother, Rain, who homeschools him.(The only other time he has even seen people is when they go into town to buy things.) Then, his eccentric grandmother falls and breaks her hip.
So, he’s stuck in a foster home until Rain gets better. This includes going to Public school. His first day isn’t so hot. He gets picked on because he’s so different (what else is new?). (I forgot to mention that he kinda new-agey. He "Meditates" every day, and there is some reference to "Keeping the balance flowing" and stuff like that. Nothing major, but its still in there. He is also a Peace Freak. You know, ‘War is bad’ type stuff.) Now, this next part is confusing, so hold on to your hats! The popular guy nominates Cap for school president so they can make fun of him. (?) Apparently, they nominate the strangest (different) person they can find so they can "Watch them stumble all over themselves and look stupid". Anyway........
So, he get elected pres. of the school. The kids are still being as mean to him as you can expect, but Cap ignores the mean things they are doing. (Also, at the foster house where he is staying, the girl, Sophia is being REALLY mean to Cap, but he keeps trying to be kind to her anyway, and succeeds. My favorite part of the book.) What follows is the funny story of all that happens at C average middle school! in the end, he turns the school upside-down with his kindness! It’s a funny look at what can happen when you are kind to people who are mean to you.
In the end, Rain sells the farm where he has grown up, buys a condo, and he ends up at C average middle school again. (By his own choice, of course.) His grandmother is quoted saying........" My accident was a wake-up call. I don’t plan on dying soon, but eventually you’ll out live me Cap. When I’m gone, you’ll have to make your way in the real world. That just won’t happen at Garland farm".
It seems to me that the author is not trying to make it seem like homeschoolers are all like that, but it can be taken both ways. However, with the way it is written, if I was not a homeschooler, and I read the book, I would probably get the impression that that’s what homeschoolers are like. Either way, it was still a pretty good book.
There were no crude words or bad words in this book, which I was very happy to see!
I had my mom look through this book and she advised that middle schoolers would get the most out of this book. She also said she would consider this to be a book that you could read for school and it be educational. Because of the different views, it teaches a good lesson, and the vocabulary was good. personally, I enjoyed reading this book, and thought it was thought provoking. Cap is a wonderful, sweet innocent character who is suddenly thrust into the world without any warning after living in a peaceful farm all his life. A Very good book in my thinking.

It was fun. It was cool. IT WAS AWSOME! I LOVE APRIL FOOLS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I made some Jello and put it in glasses to chill. Then I gave it to the boys! Ha! It was great! I got sprayed with silly string, then I waited for the brothers to open the door, and sprayed them before they got in the house! (With their own can, none the less!) Very fun! I tried to put some plastic wrap on the door jams so they would walk into them, but they saw them. Riley kept poping those party popper things, and making mom scream, so me and Sean snuck up and poped one behind him while he was on the cumputer! He must'of jumped two feet hight! (He screamed too!) Hee hee! It was awsome!
Other than that, not much is going on. I'm leaving for the teen night soon, so that'll be fun. If I could bugg you guys and ask you to pray fer ANOTHER request, I know this girl, and she keeps calling people names, being kinda mean to me (And people who are my friends) and (Worst of all) She's kind of makeing fun of my faith. So if you could pray for me to know what to say and how to react arouned her, than that would be awsome!
