How's it going? Nothing much is going on here, just the usual. We are trying out a new church, the last one was kinda.....cuckoo. The Sr. pastor was pretty good, but the Sunday-school teachers, youth pastor, and assistant pastor were all kinda off the wall. I went to youth group, and it was pretty cool, we had a scavenger hunt, which was really fun. I'm beginning to get a reputation as 'the brainiac homeschool nerd who wears her baseball cap backwards'. (One of the teachers here is kinda confusing, and I usually end up either asking for clarification, or correcting him, which is kind of embarrassing, but I think bible teaching is just to important to let stuff like that slip by.)
Anyway, last night he mistakenly said that 'money is the root of all evil' and I raised my hand and said "Actually, the LOVE of money is the root of all evil." every eyeball in the room swiveled to look in my direction. Lol.
Also, NOBODY WILL SING (in the youth group). Unfortunately, we sang, 'Shout to the Lord', and I have a very high singing voice. So everybody else mumbled through the song, while I shrieked my way through. Every head turned to look in my direction at least twice. Oh well. At least they were discreet about staring at me.
How was your 4th of July, Americans? We had some friends up from FL and some other friends who live around here, so we had a total of 9 kids running around like maniacs, screaming at the top of their lungs. We had Go-Kart races, which was awesome! Then we went swimming and ate watermelon, and than came dinner. After dinner, while waiting for it to get dark, we argued about who would be on which team for War for about fifteen minutes. Once we finally got that figured out, a light saber's batteries ran out. So after ten minutes of waiting for them to come back from changing the batteries, another kid who previously was not going to play, decided he DID want to play. So we got in a total of 3 minutes (Give or take a few seconds) of playing before it was time for fireworks.
LOL We go to a youth group that is not at our church, that friends go to once a year or so and I am always the "the brainiac homeschool nerd that corrects the youth pastor". Then we get home and my brother tells my parents all about it and they say, "We may not agree with them on some issues but don't correct the youth pastor!" or something like that. It's funny.
God bless,
Luckyme
