Pirates

A wicked pirate is Blackbeard, he really lived.

Pirates are kinda like robbers, they steal things.  But pirates sail and dig for treasure, robbers just take things from banks and houses.  Pirates burn down houses and camps just because they are pirates!

Sometimes pirates have parrots.    They have long guns and short guns.  Pirates wear boots, sometimes they don’t have boots.  They have canons to sink other ships down.  Do you  know, that the Chinese people had pirates too.   Pirates always need a map for treasure.  Some pirates had armour.  They have daggers to fight people for their own treasure.

There are some different kind of flags.  They all mean death, which isn’t very nice.   Flags were important cause they gave messages to other boats.

There was a lot of treasure everywhere.

But pirates don’t think of other people.  Pirates only think of themselves, sometimes they even killing other pirates on the deck.  God does not want us to kill.  God wants us to love our enemies.  We need to care for them, tell them what is right and do nice things for them.

I do like pirates, but I don't like what they did then. 

I made all the treasure in the treasure chest and the flag.  

I bought the costume and knife from the toy shop.

I've been looking at lots of books about pirates and

playing pirates with my friends, and myself.

Pirates are interesting aren’t they Daniel – (aside from the fun of dressing up – you look pretty cool in that photo). Did you know Dampier (near where your Mum lived when she was a girl) was named after Dampier who was also a pirate? Pirates learnt heaps about navigation and helped discover many parts of the world. And pirates like Dampier wrote about wildlife they had seen in other places where no one else had ever been. He was also on the ship when Selkirk was rescued and that story inspired Daniel Defoe to write “Robinson Crusoe”. LOL Ham'G

sometimes pirates had cuttlasses too. and also a long gun can be called a rifle or shotgun. nice beard, as well.
