I never keep up with my journals but i'll keep trying to! Last month we sent our big untranied gelding (Mama calls him red-man) off to be trained so my pony mare was lonely and if i left her pasture for one minute she would start winnying so i had to spend my intire day in the pasture reading she would only graze where i was! Then two days after that we went to go and try to get a free horse that a friend of a friend of a friend wanted to give away to a good home so we (me and my mom) went with a friend who owns a trailer to go pick him up. we had gone and ridden him and such and desided that he would be a great horse since he is 24 and dead broke. so we went to get him and his owner was at work and could not come so we called him in from his pasture and he came so we led him on untill he had his front feet on the ramp but then he backed off really fast. so Mama and our friend went and tryed to get him on again. well he would not do it so finaly we had to call his owner and she came and IN FLIP-FLOPS grabed him by the halter and tryed to lead him on he went almost all the way in but then backed up and ran out of the trailer into the alfalfa field next to the barn there where trees WAY at the end and mama asked if there was a fence. but finaly he stopped and realised where he was so he started grazing so his owner IN FLIP-FLOPS went to go and get him then we led him on again and he backed out and just stood there. this went on for humm...two hours i'd think! so we made arangements to com pick him up the next day when the horse's owner's land lord (who owned horses) could help. but i had to be gone that day so i could not help when i came home mama said that he would not get on today either so two days later our friend who had a stock trailer went (i was gone that day too) and managed to get him on so now we have red-man in training and big boy here with us so my mare's happy!! -Gods Girl |
