May. 1, 2007 - Proverbs 31 -- My Fave!!!

Proverbs 31: 10-31

The Wife of Noble Character

10  A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.

11  Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.

12  She brings him good, not harm, all the days of his life.

13  She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.

14  She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.

15  She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for the servant girls.

16  She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17  She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her task.

18  She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.

19  In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

20  She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

21 When it snows she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

22  She makes coverings for her bed and is clothed in fine linen and purple.

23  Her husband is respected in the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

24  She makes linen garments and sells them and supplies the merchants with sashes.

25  She is clothed with strength and dignity; she laughs at the days to come.

26  She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

27  She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28  Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, he praises her:

29  “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

30  Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

31  Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Apr. 11, 2007 - Sorry this took so long...

Yes, I do have a good excuse for not posting in so long. I’ve been …busy.

Okay, so it’s not a GOOD excuse – but I really have been busy!

I know you’re all wondering what in the world has been going on in my life :-) so I guess I’ll start were I left off – moving. Well, first I have to tell you I don’t even know what we’re doing for sure. My dad didn’t get the job he wanted, so we can’t build that big house we wanted on that big property we wanted to buy near that job we thought he was going to get which he didn’t…a mess, I know…What I DO know is very little, and it is this: We have officially sold our house and must be out in two weeks. We are moving into a tiny, three-bedroom rental near my dad’s work. We can’t STAY in the rental forever, so my Dad has decided to look for a new job elsewhere (I doubt we will be able to find a place to live near his current job that will fit our needs). He’s looking pretty much everywhere, but He’s mostly hoping for North Carolina. I’m not sure what to think of that…I am going to miss my friends and family here in Ohio, but NC is also a very nice state to live in. I don’t know. The only real thing to hold to is God’s promise He’s with us, I suppose. Whatever happens, I have to trust Him.

Well, that’s pretty much all I have on our move.

Also, (to please Victoria who wanted to know) my hand IS indeed broken. The doctors say it’s a buckle fracture at the base of the fourth and fifth fingers. They gave me a splint to wear until the fracture’s healed (or about four weeks).

Anyways, I’ve got to go.

Merry, Godzgirl

P.S. Oh! For all of you who don’t know already, Brian and April Wright are finally expecting!!! The baby will be born in November! Hurrah!!

Mar. 11, 2007 - Oh, dreaded moving...

Hello, everyone! Sorry it’s taken me so long to write another entry. I’ve been a bit preoccupied with reading and such (Thank you teacherperson!). Also, I haven’t been home much lately because of our movin’ and things. Just a forewarning to all of you planning to move close to Piketon Ohio: I hope you really like single-wide houses and/or people who’s yards resemble organized junk-yards ‘cause you will most likely be moving in or next door to one. If this doesn’t coincide with your taste, you might as well plan on livin’ in a $450,000 house on a quarter-of-an-acre lot in a subdivision.

Basically, my past few weeks could be summarized as pointless and/or frustrating – not to mention the whole emotional breakdown thing going on between my parents. :-) I think they – my parents – were looking more towards a reasonably expensive home on fifteen acres with classy neighbors. But nooooooooohooo! I am beginning to doubt there was ever such a thing.

*Sigh* … *Looooong sigh*

Oh well, I suppose in the end God will provide us with exactly what we need. Hope y’all have a great day!

Maranwë Calmacil

P.S. I’ve been meaning to ask:

Victoria the Great: Do you have a blog???

LibbyK: What does the “K” stand for???

Totustuus: What is your screen name suppose to mean???

Everyone else: What would you like to read about in my next entry? I’m startin’ to run out of ideas here.

Feb. 16, 2007 - Proverbs 3:21-26

21 My son, let them not depart from your eyes -- keep sound wisdom and discretion; 22 so they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck. 23 Then you will walk safely in your way, and your foot will not stumble. 24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. 25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; 26 for the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.

Feb. 15, 2007 - Hello, all...

Hello, all. Sorry I haven’t posted for a while. I’ve been a bit busy lately between schooling, POINT, and ALL my MANY extra activities (*ha ha*).
Happy Valentines Day yesterday!!! I hope your V-day was as eventful as mine. Though my family and I didn’t make a big “to do” over it this year, Morgan and I did get to go to a party to celebrate. A few of my friends threw a little bash at the Donatos Pizza in Lebanon. We had pizza and games and pretty much just hung out most of the time. Unlike last time, quite a few people – about 21 – attended. That tiny room was so crowed, we could barely move! But, I think I had fun anyway.
Lately, I’ve been trying my hand at sewing – emphasis on the word “trying”. I’ve needed a new skirt for a long time now, and with all the fabric my mom has piled in her sewing closet, I figured I would try to make my own. It’s gone fairly well so far, – I’m getting lots of help from my mom – but I could always use some tips (*hint hint*).
Well, I’ve got to go do some dishes. I’ll try to post sooner next time.

P.S. How do you add pictures and/or music to your blog???

Fear of man will prove to be a snare;
But whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

Feb. 6, 2007 - Oh, what to write...?

…Hmm…Now that I have a blog, I’m unsure of that to post…I guess I’ll write a bit about myself. Let’s see…Well, first of all, Maranwë Calmacil is NOT my English name, but my name in Elvish. I chose a pen-name just in case some creep happens to visit my blog. Moving on, I am the oldest daughter in a family of currently seven children. I was born and raised in Ohio and am living there presently in a little town you’ve never heard of (so I won’t bother telling it to you :-). I have been a registered home-schooler since kindergarten and have enjoyed it the whole way through. I attend a home-school group in Middle-town every Friday. Though it can be stressful on occasion, I like it very much and look forward to it every week. I have learned a great deal and made many friends thru the group (thank you all!). Lastly, some of my interests include: reading, music, creative writing, film-making, poetry, discovering new things and places, storytelling, drawing (…I never said I was good at it…), singing, helping people and making them happy, hanging out with my friends, hiking in the woods, solving puzzles, and probably about a million more things I’m unable to name while staring at this computer screen. The greatest of all these interests, though, would have to be the reading of God’s Word. There are so many interesting and eye-opening things in the Bible! All you need do is open His Book and see what He has to say to you today. There you will find an answer to every question you have, and all you have to do is ask.

P.S. Thanks 2 all you girls for posting!!!

Feb. 4, 2007 - Woohoo!!!

Hello, all. Can you believe it?? My very first blog! I never thought I’d get one, although, now that I have one, I’m not sure what to write. Before I run away with myself, I must apologize for my spellin’ and grammar. They’re not what they should be for someone my age :-). Of corse, most of you reading this have already that found out… Hmm… I think I’ll try to post some pictures now. Hope it works!
