…for another blog post. Well, we’re back from NJ. As you probably know, my Aunt Dawn was murdered. We rushed down the night we got the news, and drove all through the night. We got to my Grandma’s around 8 AM. Everyone was going crazy. Over the ten days we were there, we had to live through an arraignment, wake, and funeral. Here are some memories I have of my Aunt Dawn:
There are so many memories of my wonderful Aunt Dawn that they would take pages to record. However, not having much time, I just want to share some of the most cherished.
First of all, I would like to thank her for giving me four wonderful cousins. They are a, well, indescribable crew, but I love them. Life would be missing many wonderful and hilarious memories if it weren’t for them.
Aunt Dawn has always gone beyond the limit for us, like coming over to say goodbye before we left to go back home to Vermont. That is the last time I saw her. She also visited us whenever she could.
Shortly after moving to Vermont, I was about to turn seven. She and the whole crew came up for it. That was a day I’ll never forget. My cousins, my younger brothers and I donned rollerblades and had a ball in the basement. What a night! She also never missed a birthday card, and that’s not an easy accomplishment in my house!
This past year, while at Virginia Beach with us, she wanted to hear some of the music she had brought with her, but didn’t have a CD player or stereo. So, she borrowed my boom box. I’m glad to have been able to assist her, even though it almost broke because of the sand in it!
One thing that was ironic about Aunt Dawn was her hair. I’ve seen her with only one style, and pictures of her with only 2 other main ones!
Well, I know Aunt Dawn has gone to better place. I hope that some may be enlightened with this last memory, the memory of her smile.
The most wonderful memory Aunt Dawn left me with was her smile. That wonderful, beautiful, and heart-warming smile. You’d crack a joke and you’d be rewarded by a bright smile or a lovely laugh. That is my most wonderful memory of my Aunt Dawn. I love you Aunt Dawn.
Well, there you go. I’ll post more soon.
