Many people, if asked this question, will answer no, of course not. According to evolution, the idea of dinosaurs still being alive after 70 million years sounds absurd. However, if you look at it from a creation point of view, taking into consideration that dinosaurs were brought on the ark, it is highly possible that they may still be alive after only 4500 years!
There have been many sightings of dinosaurs in recent history. In April of 1890, a western newspaper reported that two ranchers had been riding in the desert near Tombstone, Arizona. Suddenly, a huge winged creature flew down from the sky, preparing to land. The men and their horses were terrified. After the creature landed, the men were able to get a closer look. Other than having gigantic wings, its eight foot head supported a mouth filled with teeth, a slim body, and large claws on its feet and wings. After killing it, the men cut off the tip of one of the wings. The wing had a smooth, tough membrane, like a bat’s. Many people would think the story a myth, but who knows? The description fits the Pteranodon family, one of which, a Quetzalcoatlus, was found in Texas in 1972.
In the Ndoki, a region of northern Congo, there are seven and a half million acres of swamps and jungle that men rarely dares to enter. Could this unexplored area shelter the animal the natives call Mokele Mbembe? It is said to be smooth skinned, brownish-grey, much larger then an elephant, and have a very long and powerful tail. When shown pictures of different dinosaurs, they chose the Apatasaurus as the closest match.
In Scotland, the Loch Ness Lake is known to harbor a “sea-monster.” There have been many sightings of “Nessie” and even some blurry photographs. According to these, Nessie is 20 feet long, has a serpent-like neck, and flippers on the side of its fat body. Even in Lake Champlain, sightings of a similar creature, called Champ, are regularly reported.
As for myself, if asked the question, “Are dinosaurs still alive?” I would answer, to the best of my knowledge: Yes, dinosaurs still inhabit parts of this earth.
