• Nov. 12, 2006 - RedNeck GreenHouse
Yesterday my dad and I built a cheap redneck greenhouse. We started by stapling a plastic sheet to the awning of our house with a staple gun and then took a small piece of plastic and stapled it to the corner in the back left hand corner of the house right next to the other one. Then I stapled the big sheet of plastic to a wooden ladder to hold it out from the eve of the roof to give me more room. Then I stapled the other end of the sheet of plastic to the frame of the back door. I put a big green plant stand with most of my plants on it and the bigger plants I put in front of and beside it. After I got done I watered everything and looked on with pride at dad's and my creation. The back porch light and the dryer hot air vent are inside the greenhouse so if it gets cold at night, I can turn on the light and anytime the dryer runs the whole thing fills up with hot, humid air. The plastic was the kind that you use to keep from getting paint on carpet. The whole thing was very cheap and low maintenance. I'll probably have to do it again next year, since it's not going to last very long. |
