HOMESCHOOLING WITH THE BEAR FAMILY

Fun day

Papa Bear is still not feeling well.  His tooth is giving him fits.  After work he is supposed to stop by Urgent Care and have a doctor look at him.  Now Papa has to not be feeling well to do this.  He is NOT a doctor person at all!  I tried to get him in with a dentist but with it being the weekend I did not have any luck!  I am thankful he decided to do this route instead.

We did school today.  Yogi had a Math quiz and got 100%.  Pooh did some measuring in Math today and decided he wanted to make some play dough.  Hey he measured it all out himself and did a great job.  He wanted grape and Yogi made orange.  The dough smelled great!!!  All went great except for the mess but that was easy enough to clean up!    Below is the recipe he used....

Fruity Play Dough

What you will need:

2 1/4 cups flour

1 cup salt

2 Tbs unsweetened koolaide

4 Tbs cooking oil

1 cup water

How to concoct it:

1. Combine flour, salt, and koolaide in a large bowl

2. Stir in cooking oil and water

3. Continue stirring until mixture is consistency of bread dough

4. Remove dough from bowl and knead on floured surface for 2-3 minutes until firm

Concoction tips and ideas:

*Mold different fruity play dough colors/scents into pieces of make believe fruit.  Just make sure you don't eat them!

*Store leftover Fruity Dough in an airtight container or plastic zip bag

*Do not eat dough!

My cubs played with this on off throughout the day today.  They took their cars and ran through it like a road.  Loads of FUN and CHEAP to make!!!

I am working on getting my assignments together for them next week.  I found a great worksheet for Thanksgiving at Better Homes and Gardens.  Below is the worksheet I printed off click on it and it will take you Better Homes and then click on family fun.

It is a really nice worksheet on what your cub is thankful for.    Well I must go.  I need to start working on stuff for next week.

Good night,

Mama Bear

What a "windy"day!!

The wind was horrible today!  I thought the trees were going to fall over in my yard.  Papa Bear is having trouble with a tooth and really needs to get it pulled.  Luckily I had some antibiotics here so he is taking that and Ibuprophen for pain.  I hate to see him sick.  I called to check on him and he was in need of medication so I loaded up the cubs and went to his job which is 45 minutes away.  So you might as well say 2 hrs of my day went out the window.... oh well.  Then I had to get some groceries and gas for the cookstove.  By the time this was all done it was time to take Yogi and Pooh to their Art classes.  Boo is such a trooper. He never made a peep thoughout his whole ordeal... until we got home....  I had just got all the groceries put away and he cried out ENOUGH!!!  So it was bottle time for him and then it was time to go and pick up the cubs once again.  My house was a disaster zone.  I got them and Papa Bear called my cell to see where I was and so he wanted me to meet him at his parent's place of business.  I did and he seemed to be doing much better PTL!!!   I had got home and was wishing I had more time before Papa got home, because I hate for my house to not be clean for when he comes home from work.  Anyway Yogi and Pooh pitched in and got things done real quick!!!  Pooh cleaned their bedroom (swept and made bed), then he swept the school room, Yogi cleaned the bathroom down with bleach and swept Papa's study and my bedroom he also made my bed.  I cleaned the living room and kitchen up and made dinner.  After dinner Yogi did the dishes.  Do I have a couple of good cubs or what?!  Mama is proud!  They can be good when they want to be!  They did school on the pc today since we were not home.  I let them use their Advantage programs today.  They had a blast.

Here is a recipes I used for dinner today:

Bacon Ranch Chicken with Melted Cheese

This is a recipe out of my head and it turned out rather well!

1 can of chicken broth

1 pkg chicken tenderloins

1 8oz package shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup of light done right three cheese dressing

8 slices of bacon

*Pour broth into pan, lay in your chicken, smear on dressing, cover with bacon strips, and add cheese.  Bake for about 1 hr at 350 degrees*  Feeds my hungry cubs and Papa Bear just great.  If you have more to feed you may want to double the recipe.

Papa Bear said this was one of the best chicken dishes I have made!  Love that Papa!!!

My sister sent me a picture today of my neice (brother's little girl) she is so cute!!!  Anyway I will call her little red riding hood. Sister Bear said she thought through the eyes Red looks like me.... if I must say so myself  ahem.... she does!!!

 Here is the picture...

Oh I just had to share a couple of pictures of my own cubbies too....

Boo looking pretty buff!!!

Grrr....

It is a rainy day and the bears have been grouchy!!  "I can hear them still saying I am bored Mom.  What can I do mom?  He hit me mom!"  Okay enough I say! Here I sit finally able to do my first entry and I have just started typing and Boo is bellowing!  I need a calgone retreat!

Papa Bear is off on Wednesday's so that was a plus.    We had some errands to do and then ate lunch at Penn Station, that was a lot better than that old porridge.  We ate kinda late so I did not have to fix dinner!

We don't normally do school on Wed due to the fact Papa is off and since he is our Pastor as well we do visitations.  Today we did nothing.  Sort of a blah day!  I suppose rain makes a bear grouchy and feel like staying in bed.  Hibernation is the key to STRESS!!!

Back to a school day tomorrow... Yogi and Pooh have art class in the afternoon.  They love it.  Not sure if I will have to buy them any art supplies just yet.  The teacher is supposed to let me know.  I do need to make a grocery run and pay some bills.  Oh if only I did not have bills I would be rich ($$$$$)!!!!

Well little Boo is really throwing a fit now  .  While I was fixing Boo's bottle, Yogi was watching him and he told me that he was being good then all of a sudden he started growling and showed his mean streak.  I thought that was funny! Okay so he finally got his milk and now he is a happy camper!!

All's well that ends well I must say!

Good night,

Mama Bear
