Crafts with Wee Wuns #2: GROCERY BOOSTER! RUUUN!!!
Before I begin, chances are that I need to explain my title to this post, because 99.999% of my readers probably do not know what a GROCERY BOOSTER! RUUUN!!! is. Let me explain for you:
About one to three years ago, my four year old, fun, talkative, always moving, sister was learning to talk. Now let me tell you, she couldn't pronouce or even say some words correctly (for instance, in that three year space of time, I was christened "Toobahda" [pronounced: toob-ah-dah] ). Two of those words specifically were "ghost," and "monster," which both came out as the same word, "booster." Every time I walked down the hallway past her room with a blanket covering my entire body (except my feet, which you could plainly see protruding from under the blanket), I would hear, 'No booster Toobadah, no booster' coming from a blankie-covered lump that was on her bed. Now do you see why I call it a "GROCERY BOOSTER! RUUUN!!!? Good.
This is what a GROCERY BOOSTER! RUUUN!!! looks like:

Believe it or not, the girl under the bag is the four year old girl that was afraid of "boosters"! Okay, instead of boring you with talking about my siblings, let me give you the instructions for a GROCERY BOOSTER! RUUUN!!!:
Instructions for a GROCERY BOOSTER! RUUUN!!!
Ingredients:
One brown paper bag
Two pieces of pink construction paper
One piece of orange construction paper
Crayons
Glue Stick
Scissors
Instructions
1. Glue the pink pieces of paper to front of the grocery bag, one overlapping the other.
2. Cut an eye hole in the shape of a figure eight (see above).
3. Cut two ear pieces out of orange construction paper. Glue them between the pink paper and the bag on either side of the head.
4. Cut out two "honkers" out of orange construction paper. Glue them between the pink paper and the bag on the top of the head.
5. Draw a blue nose and have the Wee Wun(s) color it in.
6. Draw a big, red "clown mouth" and have the Wee Wun(s) color it in.
7. Draw two green cheeks and have the Wee Wun(s) color it in.
8. Add some purple hair and have the Wee Wun(s) color it in.
There, you're done! That little project took me about eight minutes to make. If you have any glow-in-the-dark "vampire teeth", give these to the Wee Wun(s) to make them even more scary. This project eliminated all of my sister's fear of monsters, because when she put the mask on, I would run away in "fear". If you do this with your Wee Wun, he will become a whole lot more confident and less afraid of monsters.
Later I will post on a Grocery Booster Vest and how to make it.
Bye for now,
HRTF
