Here is how Victoria came about creating the cards:
We had just begun homeschooling our children, ages 2 and 5, when I realized I wanted to use biblical stories and characters along with classic images as an integral part of teaching my children other academic subjects. Instead of using made-up cartoon characters, I began searching for interesting ways to combine Bible characters, stories and principles with language arts. My husband, a professional photographer who is always on the lookout for vintage graphics, came across some antique Bible ABC Cards and I fell in love at first sight!
Although initially yellowed with age and in need of some restoration, the charm of the lovely illustrations and short poems combined with a Scripture verse for each letter captured my heart. After giving out the cards to family and friends and digitally enhancing them using the feedback we received, we are pleased to be able to offer our Bible ABC Cards at our online store for homeschooling families and Sunday school teachers.
The cards come as either large prints suitable for wall decorations or as smaller flashcards. The flashcards are lovely when used to create an ABC Scrapbook with your child.
To add even more value to our Bible ABC Cards, new features have been recently added. Each card now has its own lesson plan and Bible story or verses to expand on the verse on the card. Art appreciation, simple crafts and discussion questions make the Bible ABC cards even more fun! Lesson plans, printables of each letter and coloring pages come as a CD-ROM so you can print out as many copies as you need.
