Summer is time to loosen up and have some fun! That doesn’t mean we can’t still learn, though. Below are a few online games to keep up with language arts skills if you have one of those rainy days and the kids are inside.

When my daughter visits Grandma she has the privilege of watching television (we don’t have tv – just movies). Interestingly, one of her favorite shows (Grandma is good about monitoring) is Wheel of Fortune! Here is a free online version if your child likes to play as well.
For the younger crowd, Between the Lions offers quite a selection of games focusing on sounds and beginning reading skills.

Here are a couple more to check out:
IKnowThat.com has TONS of games at all levels in all subjects. You can keep busy here for quite some time.
CleverIsland.com has games and resources for ages 3-8.

Jun. 22, 2006 - Prayers Please
Had a phone call frrom my sister earlier this evening - seems that my Mum was taken into hospital this morning. They say that she has had a mild heart-attack. Not a lot else I can tell you at the moment........also not much that I can do, as I'm seeing the neurosurgeon in the morning myself! My parents live quite a distance from us (about a two hour journey), so it's not easy to just get up and go over there. My sis is going to keep me updated and I've warned her not to tell Mum that I'm seeing the doctor in the morning - don't want to add to her worries! I've got a number for my Mum's phone at the hospital, so I'll ring her later tomorrow when everything at this end is done and dusted. Off to bed now before I fall asleep at the desk!
