Seeking Domestic Sanity, Part 2
Last week, we discussed fooding, my word for the whole shoppingcooking/menu planning scene, and laundry. Today were going to tackle clutter and chores. Be brave!
-
Clutter: Clutter is a thief. It robs our space, our time and our energy to take care of it all. For homeschoolers, that clutter can be books, supplies, files, or any number of things. Spend a few weeks ruthlessly sorting your backlog of stuff. If you havent used the worm cage in the storage room for three years, chances are that you will not use it in the future. Find a used curriculum sale in your area, or advertise that youre having a garage sale featuring homeschooling supplies. Moms will come out in droves to shop your sale!
-
Chores: Summer is a great time to get your kids on a chore schedule. Even the smaller ones can make a contribution to the family. Make a list of everything that needs to be done in your home, then assess the troops. Who can you delegate to? They will learn valuable life skills.
If you spend an hour a day on these four areas this summer fooding, laundry, clutter and chores, you will revolutionize your homeschooling year for your family.
