I found this little devotion I wrote last year as the first in a series of weekly devotions and I was blessed again by the power of the very words of God. Hope you are blessed as well:
Ye belong to Christ Mark 9:41
The realization that we are not our own should impart such humility of life that we regard not ourselves as being anything of ourselves, but being and belonging all to Him. If we belong to Him, then we do not belong to this world, this flesh, or to the devil. But, alas, these are our enemies. The only way to defeat them is by putting ourselves back under His ownership and allowing Him to do with us as He pleases. We belong to Christ! Pause and think about that the next time you think your agenda must be accomplished or your plans must be carried out. Your thoughts can be established when you finally realize you are not Your Own. Your plans will change as you realize you are HIS Own and are only here for His good pleasure and purposes. ~ deborah
Not your own! but His by right,
His peculiar treasure now.
Fair and precious in His sight,
purchased jewels for His brow.
He will keep what thus He sought,
safely guard the dearly bought,
Cherish that which He did choose,
always love and never lose.
Not your own! but His, the King,
His, the Lord of earth and sky,
His, to whom archangels bring
homage deep and praises high.
What can royal birth bestow?
Or the proudest titles show?
Can such dignity be known
as the glorious name, His own!
