Verse of the Week
Psalm 19:7-9
The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Thought for the Week
ท I need to be brought back to a place of intimacy with the Lord. I need to be restored to my place near Him.
ท I dont know what to do sometimes. I feel so simple. I am in desperate need of wisdom.
ท I am neither sad, nor happy. But I want to feel that rejoicing in my heart again.
ท I cant see clearly. I feel as though I am half-blind to what is eternal. My eyes need to be enlightened.
Ever feel like that? Where do we find the remedy for all of these things? In the very words of God which we avoid. We are too busy to feed our souls and they are not healthy. If we would feast at the table set for us, we would find that the Word of God would restore our soul and give us wisdom. It will cause our heart to rejoice, and enlighten our eyes. Our circumstances may remain the same, but we will see things through a new prescription lens that will make things infinitely more clear.
The Word of God is sufficient for all of life. It is more than adequate, more than enough, and all that we need for daily living! If this is true (and it is), then why are we so resistant to reading it daily? Perhaps those thoughts of procrastinating are not our own, but come from the enemy of our soul. Do not put off reading for tomorrow what you desperately need for life today. ~dlw
