I know most of us one income family homeschoolers usually hit the road for our travels, but this tip is for those who are able to fly, and maybe a tip to pass along to friends or relatives who fly. 

Since 9-11, those who enjoy needlework have not been able to do so on their flights since the airlines don't allow scissors anymore.  My sister-in-law passed on an idea someone gave her to solve that problem.   Carry a box of dental floss in your purse.  Then you can use the little metal floss cutter to cut your thread.
