Don't you just love the encouragement you receive on blogs that you read? I do.
Lately I have been so busy with my family, house, projects, writing, and all manner of "life" that I haven't been able to do a whole lot of blogging......but have found a few gems that I want to pass on to you! Consider this as a kind of "unofficial mini carnival!"
First off, a dear friend and excellent writer who also blogs, was picked up by crosswalk.com. You will probably recognize her as a pretty regular contributor to the E-news here at The Old Schoolhouse Magazine.
Then, Patricia Ann over at the Pollywog blog "swamped" us with an exceptional carnival! I "hydrofoiled" over there and hit several of the links.....and several of the links AT those links, and boy was I blessed! (Don't worry, you can't get any mosquito bites while visiting Patricia, I promise!)
While zipping around there I came across this wonderful quote in the blog of ElevenOreos:
"Let us be merciful to one another, encouraging one another. Let's throw away the rules on the back of our fictitious homeschooling I.D. cards. Let's just walk together and hold each other up when things get hard or don't go as suspected. Let's not judge the cleanliness of a house or the talents of a child or the academic successes of a family or the lack thereof."
Wow, if you have at all been feeling like a homeschool failure, think again!
And in that same vein, another friend blogged about how to "Keep on Keeping On." If that entry there by Lorrie over at TEACH doesn't give you a "kick in the pants," then your kicker must have gone "off line!" Get that kicker back up and running......and if you aren't sure what I mean, Prayer is the way to get your life back online with God. (P.S., leave her a comment to be entered in her book contest!!)
And almost last but not least, check out this awesome list of 7 habits of highly effective new school years! Then, leave her a comment with link to your own list. (Get busy and write one, ok?) I am going to get busy and put mine up ASAP!
By the way, be sure to read the article that Ethics Today wrote about our very own Home Where They Belong blogging queen. It was excellently done! Encourage the Suarez family today, and pray for them, and for ALL your Homeschooling friends today and everyday!
Thanks for stopping by the porch today!
Homeschooling Is Life!
